Thank you to Madison County Sheriff's Office for staying on top of this and catching this thief! Thank you to our community as well.

In late May, Sheriff's deputies were called to Rocket City Toys and other businesses in the Hampton Cove community following reports of burglaries to businesses. Images and videos captured by surveillance cameras of the individual involved were shared on social media. Sheriff's detectives conducted extensive surveillance of a suspect and a vehicle over several days, ultimately leading to the suspect's identification. Detectives intercepted the suspect's vehicle at Circle K in Hampton Cove over the past week and took the individual into custody.

Michael Thomas, a 65-year-old was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Burglary and Violation of Probation. The offender was also found in possession of burglary tools. Additional criminal charges are expected to be filed against him. He is currently in the Madison County Jail Facility with bonds totaling $20,500.

Please help us catch this THIEF! He broke into Wagon Wheel a little over a week ago on Saturday, May 10th at 4:50am. He busted the door out with his crowbar and proceeded to try to find money in the cash register. We leave it open for this reason- so when he didn’t find that, he grabbed ci******es. He also went back to the office and did a whole loop around the store before exiting. Madison Co. Sheriffs Dept came within minutes but he was gone. He came
On foot from the North and walked away on foot back in the same direction. We are offering a $1000 reward to the first person to positively identity this man. Please contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Dept or message us and we can get you in touch with the investigators. Thank you so much and please share!
