History of Nall Hills Liquor

In 2010 this small local business switched owners, changing from Knocky’s to Nall Hills Liquor Store. Still Family owned this is your small local liquor store that still has a wide variety of choices. We will even go the extra mile by doing are best to find anything you want that we do not carry. With a good craft beer section to a wide selection of different wines. .

We try to get a beer special every Thursday and on every Friday we do a tasting of wine/liquors. Greeting everyone with a smile and making sure they leave happy is our goal. Come on by and find something new to try.

RECIPE FRIDAY!!!

Today is National Sangria Day makes sense that today recipe is a sangria. A simple recipe that isn't too complicated but more then just mixing some fruit with red wine.

Red Sangria

Ingredients:

-1/2 medium apple (cored, skin on, chopped into small pieces)
-1/2 medium orange (rind on, sliced into small pieces, large seeds removed // plus more for garnish)
-3-4 Tbsp organic brown sugar (or 3 Tbsp (37.5 g) organic cane sugar as original recipe is written)
-3/4 cup orange juice (plus more to taste)
-1/3 cup brandy (plus more to taste)
-750 ml bottle dry Spanish red wine*
-1 cup Ice to chill

Recipe:
1. Add apples, oranges, and sugar to a large pitcher and muddle with a muddler or wooden spoon for 45 seconds.
2. Add orange juice and brandy and muddle again to combine for 30 seconds.
3. Add red wine and stir to incorporate, then taste and adjust flavor as needed. I added a bit more brandy, orange juice and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
4. Add ice and stir once more to chill. Serve as is, or with a bit more ice. Garnish with orange segments (optional).
5. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours, though best when fresh.
