O**M EZYTGR Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2022
Suggested Retail: $22.99
OUR PRICE: $16.96
John House has made all sort of amazing wine lists, he was even on the "40 under 40" list for Wine Enthusiast a few years back. This is the best sub-$20 Oregon Pinot, IMHO. Sustainably grown and naturally produced, it only has what is needed in it. And the quality? Fantastic! Notes of wild strawberries, cherry, cola nut, dried rose petals and black tea. It's got as lot going on for this price point. And a VERY good pairing for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Clos Las Coutale Cahors (Malbec) 2021
Suggested Retail: $19.99
OUR PRICE: $13.96
Want to see what Malbec is like in France, where it came from? Cahors is a region in southwest France (East of Bordeaux) famous for Malbec long before Argentina was on the winemaking map. It has a lot more structure and can hold up to beef dishes incredibly well. Definitely worth trying out!
Orfila Estate Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, Mendoza Argentina
Suggested Retail: $14.99
OUR PRICE: $9.96
Speaking of Argentina, they do more than Malbec. Mendoza is a wonderful region for Cab, as well. High altitude, very little rainfall, which makes concentrated, character-rich wines. This might be your new favorite everyday cab...while we have it in stock!
Oak Grove California Pinot Noir 2022
Suggested Retail: $10.99
Our Price: $8.99
The highest rated sub-$10 pinot noir in the store, it recently received a 92 point rating from Wine Enthusiast. From writer Tonya Pitts:
"This wine is vibrant, crimson hued with aromas of dried cherry, raspberry, grilled mushroom, and dried herbs on the noes. The flavors on the palate are cranberry-pomegranate, grapefruit zest, dried apricot morphing into dried chicory, vanilla, earth and a dry finish. Pair with Grilled Duck Breast."
Though you might not be serving Grilled Duck Breast at your holiday dinners, Pinot Noir is the ultimate "there are too
many things to pair, but I need a medium to light red wine" option. And at under $10 per bottle, you don't have to worry about breaking the bank when family comes over. We also give a 10% case discount on top of this low price for 12 or more!!! So load up!
Luis Gurpegui Rioja (Tempranillo) 2021
Suggested Retail: $27.99
OUR PRICE: $16.99
Spain tends to have the best bang for the buck, and this proves that statement. Boasting an impressive 94 point rating (for THIS PRICE, WHAT?) Mike DeSimone of Wine Enthusiast seems to have liked it quite a bit, and I agree.
"This dark-violet-colored wine has a bouquet of black currant, purple plum, and juniper berry. Flavors of ripe cherry, raspberry, eucalyptus, clove, cocoa powder, and lavender are wrapped in a shroud of muscular tannins that power into a lengthy finish."
It's pretty hard to beat the quality-to-price ratio of such a wine. One way to find out, take it for a spin! Swing on by and see you at the shop.
