Tomorrow 4-6pm we'll be tasting three wines from Bablyonstoren with Nadine Maruszczak who represents the winery in the Midwest. We'll be tasting their Chenin Blanc, Babel Red Blend and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Chenin Blanc, A crisp and refreshing wine with lovely guava and melon flavours for the hot summer months. Soft pressing, cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks. Racked of fermentation lees and kept on thin lees for 4 months before bottling.

Babel is a dry, full-bodied red blend offers a balanced fusion of black fruit and a savoury edge of cigar. The blend is made up of 53% shiraz, 19% pinotage, 8% cabernet franc, 6% merlot, 5% malbec, 3% petit verdot, 3% mourvèdre, 2% grenache noir, and 1% marselan.

Cabernet Sauvignon: This complex, full-bodied red wine is a stellar wine fit for any celebration. Rich, dark berry fruit at its core and a savoury edge of wild herbs, graphite and cedarwood shavings. Grapes are picked from eight different vineyard blocks. Matured in a combination of 40% new and 60% second- and third-fill 300 litre oak barrels for 18 months before being bottled and matured for three months prior to release.

Yarrrrr!!!!! Eh, we'll leave the pirate talk to the professionals. Who you can meet tomorrow between 4-6 pm here at Vine & Brew! Wine Pirati is owned by Domenico and Elise Musumeci making some of the best Michigan wines to date!

We met them a year ago and have been excited to bring them on since we met. At the beginning of the year, we became the first retailers to carry their wines. Their style of winemaking is a more natural approach without added sulfites or yeasts and without filtering or fining the product. The end result is a bunch of dry fruitier wines without sulfites their stifling their true potential.

Come on by anytime between for 4-6 pm for a free sampling of their products. Ask them all the whacky questions you can about winemaking, grapegrowing, or about Buster, Basketball Cat, Wee M**s, and other crazy farm characters!!

THIS Thursday we're tasting Gulp/Hablo wines and Pas de Probleme with Jimmy Bates of T. Edward wine imports!

Pas de Problème is an easygoing Pinot Noir sourced from near the village of Béziers. It's fruity, juicy, unoaked, and aromatic, with notes of mocha, thyme, and rosemary. Aromatic notes of raspberry, redcurrant, and wild strawberry are complemented by mocha, thyme, and rosemary. This Pinot Noir is fruit-forward, light, and juicy, with no oak added.

Gulp/Hablo:
White:
Light and citrusy white finished bone-dry. Good minerality and fresh tones of crisp apples and lemon. This wine made of the indigenous white-berried grape called Verdejo, and while common and popular in Spain is still underrepresented in American markets. It is known for making thirst-quenching dry whites.

Red:
Gulp Hablo Red Blend is an easy drinking, light bodied wine that's full of fresh herbs, strawberries, stone fruits, wet stones, and straight up deliciousness. It straddles the line between rose and red wine making it pleasant with a slight chill as well.

Orange:
A blend of equal parts Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc, a common combination for the white wines of the region, and here made into an orange wine via a week of maceration on the skins. Aromatics of orange blossom and tropical jackfruit with moderately tannic dried citrus peels, tea and preserved apricots on the ye**ty and textured plate.

Lampyres, Harvest Moon
50% Grenache, 50% Mourvèdre. A light, aromatically expressive, readily accessible red wine.

Clos Fous, Mr. Chile
Insanely refreshing blend of 75% Pais, 17% Cinsault and 8% Carignan.

Fabien Castain, Perigord
90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
A Mary Taylor wine and jeeze does she know how to pick them. Concrete aging gives this wine fruit forward wine silky tannins. Just delicious.

Barebones, Cinsault
Fun and fresh old vine Cinsault with partial carbonic. Refreshing and crunchy glou glou with lots of berries, bramble, and minerality to hold up to food or on its own!
