In all seriousness, I hate July as a sales month. I wonder why I even open, honestly. I know it’s good to keep our presence here, but it feels like *no one* is around here in the summer. Still working on my online shop in the meantime, and I’ve taught Sundae how to write copy and fill out excel sheets (i wish)!

Weird experience! Had someone apply to have their product in our store that used AI for all the art. AI I don’t think is inherently evil. I know it is being used for exciting things in the medical field, for instance. However, artists are tradespeople. You can’t use AI to have a meal cooked for you, or fix your toilet, or wire your home. You either do it yourself or you pay someone to do it for you. Art should be accessible, but working with an artist costs money. A lot of money, for a big project like this one was. Ideating with AI, ok, whatever. Taking this product beyond ideation and selling it commercially? Hire an artist, period. Everything that is beautiful around us outside of nature itself was made by a creative person. Don’t devalue what we do, and definitely question the use of AI in what you consume and buy. Much love! 💗
