"What's New?" not "What deals do you have?"

People come in all the time asking for the best deals. It's hard to answer that without knowing what YOU like and what YOU want. We aim to have the lowest price we can on everything in the store, which is difficult when you can't purchase everything in bulk. Rather than coming in asking about what deals we offer - we'd prefer a quick conversation with y

ou. Do you want to try something new or stick to your standby brand name wine? We try our best to help you find your favorite wine. We also know that variety is the spice of life - ever thought of having a favorite varietal for each season? Come on by, ask what's new, and try something with All Star.

Broadside 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is now $15.99 a bottle, get 2 for $27!

"Broadside produces wines focused on purity and true varietal expression. Our winemaking favors a natural approach in that our wines are minimally handled to best express the
grape, site and vintage. The 2013 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon is the culmination of years of sustained vineyard
efforts and an ideally balanced growing season. Sourced from a couple of our favorite vineyards in the Paso Robles AVA, it combines the vibrant aromatic intensity of Paso Robles
Cabernet Sauvignon with a lush berry and spice-infused palate.
Bright cherry and cassis, followed by savory bay leaf and espresso notes swirl from the glass. Rich fruit drives the palate, balanced with delicate spice, minerality, and structure persisting on the long, dry finish." - http://www.broadsidewine.com/ -robles-cabernet-sauvignon

All Star Thoughts
This wine has a medium body but a lightness in flavor that pairs perfectly with Spring. Fruity but not sweet, this wine will be one of your new favorites as soon as you take your first sip!

It's time to try Bodega Luigi Bosca l Familia Arizu's 2010 Malbec. It's in stock for $22.99 per bottle (get 2 for $37!).

Notes from luigibosca.com:
"Luigi Bosca Malbec is an intense purple colour wine, with distinct aromas of ripe red fruits, spices and black pepper. The intensity of the entry in the mouth is complemented with the softness and sweetness of tannins, respecting the characteristics of the grape variety in Argentina. A pure, full-bodied, well-structured red wine with character and all the juiciness typical of this variety. A long lingering and elegant finish."

Notes from All Star:
Not too sweet, but certainly not dry. Smooth as silk on the tongue. Certainly one of the best Malbecs at this price point. Easy drinking and delicious as soon as you pop the cork!

Just added Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree IPA 2015 bottles.

Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as “the Fonz” when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you’ll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough.

Interested in trying a fantastic, Spanish, red blend?

Bodegas Sierra Salinas Puerto Salinas 2009
$12.99 each or get 2 for $22!

Winemaker's Notes
"This wine's name is derived from the valley where the winery and surrounding vineyard area is called Puerto, which in Spanish means a "natural passage or corridor in between mountains."

Blend: 66% Monastrell, 19% Garnacha Tintorera, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon

The Wine Advocate - "There are 5,000 cases of this remarkable value, another stunning example of the astonishing palate of Eric Solomon and his ability to ferret out exceptional wines at such ridiculously low prices that most consumers will never guess how good they are based on the price alone. Composed of 66% Monastrell, 19% Garnacha and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for one year in both new and 2-year-old French oak, it displays an inky/purple color along with notes of road tar, melted asphalt, blackberry liqueur, camphor, graphite and forest floor. The wine is complex, full-bodied, rich and intense with terrific purity and wonderful overall balance. It is one more example of a wine that completely over-delivers."

All Star Liquors - "Lightness of Monastrell with a richness of Garnacha Tintorera, you get a medium-bodied, deep wine with dark fruits and red berries on your palate. Enjoy with chicken, cheese, salads, and steaks!"

Delicious Primitivo for $12.99 or buy 2 for $22!
(Primitivo = Italian Zinfandel)

Tormaresca 2012 Primitivo, IGT Puglia
Tormaresca was created in 1998 by the Antinori family, with the conviction that the Puglia region of southern Italy could produce great wine thanks to millennia-old viticultural traditions, a great richness of grape varieties, and favorable soils and climate. The Tormaresca estate is composed of two properties: one in Minervino Murge (Bari) a 247 acre estate located in the Castel del Monte D.O.C. region, 40 miles from the Adriatic Sea; the other property is a 1,235 acre estate near San Pietro Vernotico, closer to the sea in the Salento DOC region. This wine was produced using selected grapes from the Masseria Maìme vineyards in San Pietro Vernotico. The grapes were harvested at the peak of ripeness and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Maceration occurred at temperatures at or below 80F and lasted between eight and ten days. Malolactic fermentation was completed by the end of winter, after which the the wine was aged for eight months in stainless steel. The wine completed another four months of aging in the bottle before being released. It shows notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum and hazelnut as well as hints of spice. On the palate, the wine is fruity and engaging with well-balanced, integrated tannins.

Translation:
This wine is absolutely fantastic. It is rich and smooth as silk, with flavors of plum and dark cherries. You'll enjoy it on a cool night in the winter but find yourself drinking this wine through the summer as well.

Looking for an incredible deal?

Leese Fitch 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Blend Notes
The 2012 vintage shows the benefit of long hang time on the vine with deep purple color and wonderful fruity aromatics. This Cab blend starts off with aromas of blackberry cobbler, cassis, sandalwood, and herbs du provence. The flavors burst from the glass with notes of dark cherry, sweet leather, black currants, and toasted cardamom finishing with a hint of spearmint, dried fig, and toasty vanilla notes from a combo of French and American oak.

Winemaker Sourcing and Harvest Notes
The 2012 vintage in California was back to beautiful late summer weather. This consistent heat allowed varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Merlot to ripen evenly and concentrate in the summer sun. All of our Cab lots from Lodi, Clarksburg, Paso Robles, and the Northern Interior Valley were picked at optimum ripeness and the proof is in the glass. The combination of the Cab lots gives this blend the rich black fruit notes as well as the classic Cab tannins on the finish. We rounded out this blend with the extracted fruit and violet aromatics from Lodi Petit Verdot, the dark color of both Alicante Bouchet and Tannat, Sonoma and Paso Robles Merlot for a touch of dried fruit and herbs, and Lodi Barbera for roundness. A touch of both American and French Oak gives the blend some rich vanilla and sweet caramel notes while added structure to the midpalate. The sum of all these parts makes for a wonderful, rich glass of Cabernet Sauvignon that pairs perfectly with any occasion. Enjoy.

Food Pairings
This blend would pair wonderfully with pot roast alongside roasted root vegetables, baked ziti with some good crusty bread, or tandoori lamb with biryani and mint chutney.

Each year, growing numbers of curious wine lovers are drawn to this spectacular location, intent on discovering and experiencing the beauty and ethos of Bodegas Salentein for themselves.

Bodegas Salentein is a wine destination like no other. Established in the late 1990s, Salentein is a privately-owned estate of almost 5,000 acres, of which 1,124 acres are planted to vine. The property includes a world-class winery and cellars, a 125-acre nature preserve, the showpiece Killka Center for Culture and the Arts, a nearby lodge (the Posada Salentein, offering an elegant and relaxed retreat into nature), and the landmark Chapel of Gratitude, a non-denominational chapel of ascetic loveliness, built using ancient local stonework techniques.

Several malts, including Munich and chocolate, deliver the malty character. The delicate hop aroma is not overpowering and the Willamette hops provide a gentle bitterness which balance well with the residual sweetness.

The Emerald 1865
Straight American Whiskey by Ransom Spirits
"Thanks to colorful folklore passed down through the generations, we know that the Irish whiskey of today little resembles its 19th century predecessors. Trouble was, there was none left of the traditional whiskey to taste in our quest to recreate the long lost gems of the Emerald Isle. Fortune gave us two good turns; a British excise agent who recorded an Irish mash bill in 1865, and our friend David Wondrich, who found said recipe poring over the microfiche annals of history and passed it along to us. With this mash bill as our guide, we set out to create our own interpretation of a traditional Irish whiskey. To call our version modern might be a stretch— We grow a percentage of the barley organically on our farm, our grains are milled, mashed and fermented in small batches at our distillery and farm in the emerald hills of Sheridan, Oregon, and we distill according to our senses in our handmade, direct-‐fired alembic pot still. The Emerald matures in a mix of French and American oak for three years, and is hand bottled, capsuled, and labeled. The result is a highly aromatic spirit with the weight, richness, and complexity of its forbearers." - Ransom Website

Have you tried Arrogant Frog Pinot Noir?

Arrogant Frog is an estate-bottled wine from the Languedoc region of southern France. Like its creator, winemaker Jean-Claude Mas, (aka the Humble Vintner), this wine is proud to assert its Mediterranean origin. Generations of the Mas family have tended to vineyards and made wine in the Languedoc region, and over the years, their wines have retained their vibrancy and refined charm. The wine is sealed with a dependable screw cap to preserve freshness and youthful appeal. Arrogant Frog delivers exceptional quality for the price and is confident of its ability to impress.

New Wine in Stock!

Planeta La Segreta Rosso and Blanco!

La Segreta Rosso: 50% Nero D'Avola, 25% Merlot, 20% Syrah, 5% Cabernet Franc
Ruby red with slight purple hue, this wine offers intense aromas of red currant, mulberry and raspberry. Mid-palate aromas reveal more complex hints of dark chocolate, roasted herbs, and mint. Supple, rounded and dry, the medium to full body is characterized by sweet, ripe berry fruits, supported by excellent acidity and a structure that adds deft balance and helps keep the finish lengthy, firm, and clean.

This wine will pair very well with Mediterranean cuisine and grilled meats. Perfect for spring, not too heavy but not too light.

La Segreta Bianco
50% Grecanico, 30% Chardonnay, 10% Viognier, 10% Fiano
There is a ripe, perfumed quality to the fruit as this beautifully balanced Sicilian white opens up. La Segreta Bianco is pale gold with a light, greenish hue. It has a lively aromatic bouquet that mingles hints of lychee, pineapple, kumquat, peach blossom, and wild mint. The mouthfeel is full, dry and balanced by a persistent natural acidity typical of this blend and winemaking approach. The wine is smooth and supple with a satisfying aftertaste of mint, and a long finish.

Brilliant wine to transition you from heavy red wines and rich Chardonnays of winter.

Both would pair well with Taza Chocolates (also available at All Star!)
