UPDATE on Hoss:
As you may know, Austin has had some heart and concussion issues this year that has kept him on the sidelines. He was well on his way to recovery when on July 8 he received yet another concussion in a car accident. As of the beginning of September he is now back driving and working 75% days. He has gone 4 weeks without any seizures or heart issues which is great but he will likely not be cleared to race until he can go 12 months without an incident. Although this means he will likely not race in 2024, he is on the mend.

As many of you that know Hoss, (Austin), he has been struggling with medical issues this year that has forced him to cancel his 2023 race season. These issues began in July 2022 when he had Heat Stroke in Indy just 2 days after recovering from COVID. He has recently had another setback however, he is recovering with the unwavering support of his wife Nikki, family, and of course those of you who have followed and supported his racing career. We will post updates as we know more.

It’s been a tough year for Hoss not being able to race and struggling with medical issues. Early this morning the awesome paramedics from Newberg Fire responded and he is now stable and resting. We don’t normally ask for prayers but if you have one or two to spare, please feel free to send them this way :-)

Austin UPDATE:
For those of you who may be wondering where the 93 Austin Thom has been this year. Hoss has had some medical issues related to his heart that have forced him to stop racing until doctors can figure out what procedure is needed to properly regulate his heart. Today he will be undergoing a series of tests at St Vincent Hospital in Portland to hopefully diagnose the issue so we can begin to determine what treatment or procedure is needed to get back on "track". Yes, that was a "TRACK" joke! hahaha
Hoss wants to tell everyone he will be back at the racetrack as soon as he is able! Until then, Best of Luck to all who are racing this weekend and thank you for those who have supported Austin through this bump in the road.

Testing, Testing, 1,2,3, Testing. Got a call from the Doc on Friday to come in this weekend for more testing. Not sure if he needs a new front clip, replace the engine, or just get a new VanDoorn Chassis!! It’s now been 10 months trying to figure this out, Hope to get answers soon.
