For this week’s Thirsty Thursday we’re getting nice and cozy with a Hot Gin Toddy. Featuring Bovina Spirit’s Isolation Proof Winter Gin made with Earl Grey Tea, we thought this would be the perfect selection for a botanical variation on this cold weather classic.
Here’s the recipe…
Always start by getting your mug nice and hot with fresh boiled water. This will help warm up the honey and booze and keep your drink warmer longer.
To the hot mug add…
1/2 ounce honey
3 full dashers of Bittermen’s Transatlantic Aromatic Bitters
1.5 ounces of Winter Gin
4-5 ounces of piping hot water
Garnish with fresh rosemary and a fresh cut lemon slice
Viola!
You can purchase the Gin and the Bitters for a discounted price by searching for our “Hot Gin Toddy Kit.” The bottle should make about 16-17 toddies with some bitter left over for Old Fashioned’s😉.
For this week’s edition of Thirsty Thursday we are making the Mother of all Cocktails, the Old Fashioned! Every home bartender must be able to make a world class OF. This video highlights how trained New York Bartenders typically make this iconic drink.
Kit yields 12 drinks! $60
Cocktail Recipe:
1 bar spoon “raw syrup”**
2 dashes Transatlantic Aromatic Bitters by Bittermens
2 oz Ragtime Rye from New York Distilling Co.
Lemon and Orange Peel
Stir for 20-30 seconds!
Happy Sipping!
❤️Cheers❤️,
Team Drink
** “Raw Syrup” recipe:
1 cup raw sugar
1 cup water
Gently warm on a stove until all of the sugar is dissolved. Let cool to room temperature before bottling. You can store this syrup in your fridge for about 30 days before it starts to turn.
