You might have noticed there's some changes afoot to our online presence. Currently, we're revamping our website, Brooklyn Cellars, to be a smoother and easier shop for all your drinking needs! We have a lot projects in the pipeline, from monthly newsletters to an app, but before that happens we need to do some work. So apologies in advance for all the issues that can come up while ordering - including having to make new accounts while we deal with our delivery platform switching. We promise we'll have the issues sorted out soon so you can continue ordering from the comfort of your homes.

And as always, thank you for sticking with us for the past 3 and a half decades. We hope for many more chances to prove why we're still stick around.

Today's tasting is pretty special - most people are familiar with Soju as the sweet, fruity lower ABV spirit often seen in K-Dramas and college dorm rooms (joking), but very few people get to experience the more traditional serious styles of it or the Japanese counterpart, Shochu. Well, count this as your lucky day - not only do we have a Soju made out of Golden Barley, we also have an barley Shochu from Yanagita that's aged in Mizunara oak, and a sweet potato Shochu from Hozan. But don't despair if you do have a sweet tooth - we finish today's tasting with Koshu Plum Sake. See you there, from 5 to 7.

Cheer on Team USA with some classic American wines! Each of these three wines is bold and and steeped in American history.

From Napa (and California's famed Indelicato family) we have Black Stallion Los Carneros Chardonnay. Ridge has a long history of prominence in American winemaking, from taking part in the famous Judgement of Paris that bought Californian/American wine to worldwide notice to repeatedly being called one of the USA's top producers of wine. Lastly, Amapola Creek is the last project of famed American winemaker Richard Arrowood, made with century old Zinfandel vines.

"Добридень!" from us to you! Today at five to seven, Mei Chi will play host to a Ukranian wine tasting from Beykush and Chizay wineries. The wines from Beykush, located in the seaside oblast of Mykolaiv, will be their white blend Artania and also amphora-aged orange Rkatsiteli. Chateau Chizay, from the Transcarpathian (Zakarpattia) region, have a sparkling brut Rose. We hope you'll have a second to stop by and give these wines a taste!

This new rye whiskey features a blend of newly replanted historical varieties like Horton rye that date back to the 17th century. Also available to try will be NY Distilling Company's Dorothy Parker Gin.

Dirler-Cade Sylvaner is a balanced wine with minerality balanced by notes of grapefruit and hawthorn flowers. A pure wine with depth, balanced, and a mineral vibration.

Try this with a Thai curry that has some underlying heat. It was a magical pairing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Kapistoni Asuretuli Shavi is the NEWEST addition to the shop. You can taste this wine along with the Kapistoni Budeshuri Saperavi and Mukhamtsvane on May 15th from 5-7pm.

This wine exhibits fruity and floral impressions that are accompanied by powerful and elegant tannin structure in a long lasting finish. Ripe blackberries, wild strawberries and wild cherries translate smoothly from the bouquet to the palate.

Fantastic CHILLABLE RED....pairs nicely with today's weather.

Diel de Diel is made in the spirit of a field blend from Germany. It is a blend of estate fruit - Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, with a small amount of dry Riesling for freshness. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with a rocky minerality.

Starke-Conde Cabernet Sauvignon (S. Africa)

This Cabernet Sauvignon is the signature varietal and this particular wine is the bedrock of the winery. This award-winning Cabernet is blended with traditional Bordeaux varietals grown on the farm. This wine displays a rich palate, a long finish, and fine tannins typical of a Jonkershoek Valley wine.
