Time to cozy up with an affordable and warming red! Notes of tart dried cherries on a bed of potpourri that’s perfect on a glass or ready to be used for some mulling.

This wine was named “a ridiculously good wine for the money” by Wine Advocate. It’s a medium-bodied, unoaked Montepulciano with bright aromas and flavors of black cherry, dried flowers and spice.

Juan Ledesma’s definition of terroir is inclusive of the people and the culture of the region and he may even consider himself a musician first and winemaker second. Juan is farming and buying grapes from his cousin and then composing music for his wines. He records the music and puts a transducer INTO THE TANK and it plays the music for the wines as they sit. It's actually kind of like battonage, or stirring, which increases body and complexity in the wine but at a molecular level. So the wine is slowly pulsing with music from its inception- HOW CAN IT NOT BE AMAZING? Have a listen to the music on Soundcloud or on Juan's website.

Erstwhile is a Brooklyn and Mexico based-and woman owned importer of mezcal. Yuan Ji left her job in law and founded it with her partner Kevin, a former rare book and map specialist. Their mission is to support small mezcaleros- and highlight women in the industry- with fair wages and practices and business transparency.

This mezcal has notes of butterscotch, black tea, banana, and roasted maguey. It’s a little sweet and a little creamy with savory, spicy, and peppery hints, in a way that reminds us of smoked meats and Texas style barbecue followed by lingering, resonating notes of ash and soft smoke on the palate.

From the winemakers at Dom de la Mongestine (Bob Singlar wines) this is a project where they are buying organic grapes and making really clean natural wine without sulfur and canning. The result is refreshingly approachable and the 250ml size is perfect for packing into a bag for the park. Don’t forget to chill!

Fresh fruit of plum and raspberry with good depth plus acid, easy to drink and not tannic. Made with two red grapes (Grenache and Carignan) that give great fruit and a bit of Vermentino for aromatics and freshness. Food friendly and would be great with fruit salads, picnic fare tacos, a red that can go up against spicy foods and be great with some fish- salmon, tuna anyone?
