The roots of long drinks go back the 1952 Summer Games in Helsinki, Finland. The country of four million people was still poor and recovering from World War II. Full of pride for their country, the Finns wanted to give all athletes and tourists an unforgettable experience.

However, the authorities had a serious concern - how to serve drinks quickly enough to all visitors?! To solve this they came up with a revolutionary idea of a new liquor drink and so the first long drinks were born. The people fell in love and demanded to keep them after the Games.

Now The Legend of 1952 has finally been brought to America by the next generation of Finns who want the world to experience the refreshing and unique Finnish Long Drink.

Lou Pontias - Cotes Du Rhone Rouge 2021

This deeply coloured wine has an inviting nose of dark cherry and chocolate. The palate is dense and rich, with mouth-coating blackberry fruit and layers of chocolate, savoury spice and gently chewy tannins.
Producer Notes

Deep, elegant and bright color with seductive aromas of ripe black, violet and licorice punctuated by peppery notes. There is a beautiful silky mouthfeel from the tannins which are elegant and well-balanced. It concludes with a velvety, long and intense finish. Lou Pontias is the name of the gentle breeze which wafts through the vineyard, refreshing the grapes on summer mornings. The vineyard is situated in the Southern Rhône Valley, on slopes close to the village of Puyméras up to 400 m altitude, and the village of Richerenches. These plots allow, for Puyméras a difference of temperatures between day and night, and for Richerenches to benefit from a very sunny position. This wine is made with grapes selected at optimum ripeness. The Syrah grapes benefit from ideal growing conditions cool temperatures at night, and hot, sunny conditions in the daytime.

Blend: 80% Syrah, 10% Marselan, 10% Grenache

Heron Wines - Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Deep ruby color. Aromatics of red, blue, and black fruits. Red and ripe dark cherry, blueberry, black currant, plum, mocha, black tea, and exotic spice. Medium body with supportive structure from the fine tannins. Complex elegance, with both restrained power and a supple, fine finish.

PLACE Mostly from the west side of Paso Robles-Willow Creek, Templeton Gap, and small amounts of a few other AVAs to add intrigue and complexity to this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The complexity is achieved through blending of different geographical areas, not varietals, in this wine.

WINEMAKING DETAILS • Grapes picked ripe at 24 brix • Partially destemmed directly to tank • 48-hour cold soak-3 pump overs for 10 days, then 1-2 for the next 5 • Aged about 10 months • New, one and two-year-old French oak barrels from Taransaud • Alc.13.5%

LAELY’S NOTES I moved to Bordeaux, France before I could even legally drink in the USA. I was 19 or 20. I knew hardly anything about wine before then, but once there, I made up for lost time. I “cut my teeth” on French wine, and feel incredibly lucky to have had that experience. For me, Cabernet Sauvignon is a balancing act, with the fruit, tannins, alcohol and freshness in harmony. This is not a “big, huge” wine...my goal is always elegance and balance, respecting the varietal for what it truly brings to the table. Pun intended. Heron Wines

A new addition to our ever growing domestic Pinot Noir selections!

Heron - Pinot Noir 2022

Garnet in color. Aromas of violets and ripe cherries mingle with earth notes. Crushed raspberry, sour cherry, and lightly toasted vanilla. Elegant and precise, with light bodied tannins and a soft silky finish.

PLACE Monterey, West side of Paso Robles, and Russian River. An elegant composition of sustainably farmed grapes from several of California’s cool, marine influenced micro-climates.

VINEYARD We use several different clones. Wadenswill adds brightnessthink sour cherry and crushed raspberries. Pommard 4 delivers earthiness. Sustainably farmed, these vineyards use no fertilizers nor soil amendments. Complexity is achieved with blending appellations, not varietals.

WINEMAKING DETAILS • Night harvested • Fruit delivered to winery cold • Partially destemmed clusters • Pre-fermentation and 48 hour cold soak to maximize fruit and color extraction • Pump over usually 3 x a day until 10 brix, then 2 times a day • After primary fermentation is complete, we finish malolactic in neutral barrels for complexity • Our wine is aged in Francois Freres medium toast neutral barrels for 12 months • Alc. 13.5%

LAELY’S NOTES I’ve been making Pinot Noir in California since before the varietal was “in”. I make it because I love it, especially when it’s 100% Pinot. There’s something so magical about cool climate Pinot Noir, especially maritime influenced. Not only bright and fresh, there is a complexity which belongs to this varietal alone. 45% Sangiovese, 25% Petit Verdot, 20% Merlot, 10% Cab/Sauv

This Super Tuscan drinks like a $40 plus Super Tuscan, expressing a depth of flavor and earth like no other! Wine maker, Matthew Fioretti, achieves this depth and extraction with three days of pump overs, two to three times per day. Dark red fruits, gorgeous color saturation, wild berries, spice and soft dried herbs are the complexities you’ll come to enjoy in this sublime Super Tuscan wine!

The Cerbaiona, 'Grammatica' Toscana Rosso IGT has a bright ruby red color. It has intense, fruity aromas of ripe cherry, marasca cherry, small dark berry fruits, currant, blackberry, floral nuances of violet, soft spices, Mediterranean scrub herbs, licorice root, and hints of brushwood and leather. The wine is rich, fruity, and soft on the palate, with elegant tannins and a medium persistence finish. It has a good structure, with a pleasantly dense and evolved tannic texture and ripe fruit. Domaine La Rouviole - Minervois A Tempo 2021

In the game of chess, A Tempo means to play without thinking. This certified-organic Minevrois, made by an avid chess player, is instinctive grape growing and winemaking on display. Planted on clay-limestone slopes near the village of Siran in the hear of Minervois appellation, the grapes for this cuvee are from old vines and are two-thirds Syrah and one third Cinsault. The grapes are fermented in concrete separately for 15 days and blended and aged in fiberglass tanks (no oak aging). Only 425 cases produced and 200 cases imported to the U.S.
