We are thrilled to announce that Kappa Leaguer Jayden Lewis from the New Orleans (LA) Alumni Chapter Kappa League showcased his culinary skills during Super Bowl LIX. Jayden, along with his classmates from Warren Easton High School, had the incredible opportunity to represent their school and community by demonstrating New Orleans-style cuisine.

Adding to the excitement, Chef Carla Hall was a special guest chef at the Taste of the NFL 2025 event, where Jayden and his peers were able to learn from and collaborate with a culinary expert of her caliber.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jayden for this remarkable achievement and for proudly representing New Orleans! Keep up the fantastic work! ⚡️

On yesterday, the New Orleans (LA) Alumni Chapter, held a Founders’ Day Breakfast Celebration. The keynote speaker was for this event was Southwestern Province Polemarch C. Jerome Brown. A special thanks to the more than 130 brothers in attendance as well as all of the local chapters!

On Wednesday, New Orleans Nupes hosted our annual Morris F.X. Jeff, Sr., Spring Fling Easter Event at Morris Jeff Community Elementary School.

Morris Francis Xavier Jeff, Sr., was initiated into the New Orleans Alumni Chapter in 1952. As a result of his perseverance and dedication to this Fraternity, he was elected Polemarch — fifteen times — of New Orleans Alumni and later appointed Polemarch of the Southwestern Province — the largest Kappa Province in the United States. Jeff served faithfully in the position of Province Polemarch from 1963 to 1968.

Jeff was born in Morgan City, Louisiana but reared in the City of New Orleans. He was a graduate of the New Orleans Public School System attending A.P. Williams Elementary, J.W. Hoffman and McDonogh Number 35 Senior High School. His insatiable desire for higher education led him to Xavier University and the University of Michigan, where he earned a masters degree. Brother Jeff was a member of the famed Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club where he served several terms as vicepresident and reigned as the 60th “King Zulu,” in 1974. He served faithfully as a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade Commission; National Association for the Advancement of Colored People; and the National Recreation Association. Other memberships include the National Urban League, and the Knights of Peter Claver.

For the love of real estate...

Meet Russell and Josline Frank of Russell Frank Realty! They met in college at Southern University and got married 48 years ago. As new graduates and newlyweds, they embarked upon their journey to find their first home but found many barriers on the road to making their dream a reality.

"There were not that many people of color in real estate at that time," recalls Josline. Their experience as first-time homebuyers inspired them both to pursue a career in real estate, with Russell opening their brokerage and Josline coming aboard as his first agent: "We wanted to expand access to homeownership for all."

Happy Founder’s Day!

Today, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. will celebrate its 113th anniversary!

Originally founded as Kappa Alpha Nu on the campus of Indiana University on January 5, 1911, upon Christian principles and the central purpose of achievement.

Today, we pay homage to our ten revered Founders: Elder W. Diggs, Byron K. Armstrong, John M. Lee, Guy L. Grant, Ezra D. Alexander, Marcus P. Blakemore, Edward G. Irvin, George W. Edmonds, Henry T. Asher, and Paul W. Caine.

On this momentous occasion, our Fraternity reflects on our past that has defined and shaped us as we look toward our future.

✅ Donate 500,000 meals to 6 organizations to combat food insecurity in the City of New Orleans.
✅ Donate 1,911 pairs of socks to the homeless population in our city.

Expressing most gratitude to the leadership of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. for joining us in kicking off National Founders’ Day this morning.
