The wait is over!! Back in April a few of us traveled down to Kentucky to hand select a few barrels. During this trip, we went in with the intention of picking one barrel at Bulleit Distillery but ended up walking out of there with two! They both were unbelievable!

Bulliet Barrel 1 Barrel 4-E5-186

Age: 6yr

Nose: Vanilla and caramel, hint of cinnamon and a little pepper.

Palate: Oak forward with the hint of spices and sweet.

Finish: Long with just a subtle burn. Really tase the cinnamon spice notes, mixed with the sweet after taste.

Proof: 104

Yield: 131

Price: $36.99

Bulleit Barrel 2- E1-01047

Age: 10yr!

Nose: Oak forward but with a hint of apricot and sweet cherries. A touch of brown sugar.

Palate: Bourbon sweet. Oak with a little brown sugar taste to it. Can taste more of the proof at the start of your sip, but as it coates your mouth, you start to grab various dried fruits.

Finish: Long, straightforward finish. I don’t know if it was the four more years of aging, but you can taste a little bit more of the proof on the finish of this barrel, but damn is it goooooood!!

By far our favorite beer from LTB!! Very excited for this release

⚾ You've been asking, so here it is! Uecker on the Radio is BACK! ⚾

This hazy double IPA features Wai-iti, Sabro, and Lemondrop hops. With notes of tropical fruit sweetness balanced with earthy Lemongrass, this smooth-finishing IPA was brewed to minimize bitterness, and made to enjoy while listening to a living legend call the game 🍻

We have released our latest Single Barrel pick!! Here we have our 7yr, MGP cask strength, aged in Florida from Copper & Cask.

At the start of the year I was not familiar with the brand. After speaking with a couple customers it sounded kind of interesting. Both had given me a sample of two different bottles that absolutely blew me away. At the price point for Cask Strength 7yr MGP, you just can’t beat it.

Mashbill:
75% Corn
21% Rye
4 % Barley Malt

Proof 122

Aroma: Sweet, almost like a creme brulee right after it has been caramelized. Beautiful, rich aroma.

Taste: The sweetness comes right through with the slight burn on the lips. Think of the caramelized candies or desserts. Almost like a frosting style.

Finish: You can taste that it is higher proof but it almost comes in waves. The higher proof comes through but it gets masked by the sweet finish.

This was probably one of my favorites picks that we did this year!!

Was doing some reading today and found this recipe, sounds amazing! (Kind of rare for me to read but this was alcohol related, so it counts)

INGREDIENTS:
☐ 1.5oz of Rye Whiskey (made with The Sanctuary’s Woodford Reserve barrel-pick or your favorite rye whiskey)
☐ 0.5 oz of Strawberry/Guajillo Pepper simple syrup (see recipe below)
☐ 0.5 oz of Lemon Juice

Add rye whiskey, strawberry-pepper simple syrup, and ice to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Strain the drink onto ice in a cocktail glass and top with a splash of club soda. Garnished with a strawberry and a Guajillo pepper.

STRAWBERRY SIMPLE SYRUP:
☐ Equal parts water and sugar
☐ 1 pint of strawberries
☐ 10 Guajillo peppers

Bring the water to a boil, add the sugar, strawberries and peppers and let boil about 20 minutes. For a smooth syrup, muddle the mixture and then strain.

The Smoke Wagon barrel has arrived!!

As many of you know we had partnered with the Fox Valley Bourbon Society on a few barrel picks, our latest being this one!

This is a 7yr MGP bourbon coming at 116.96 proof. It is a very well layered bourbon with a strong citrus nose, almost like you squeezed an orange around the glass. As you start to take your first sips you will notice a more light cherry/citrus profile that seems very well-balanced. With subtle oak notes, it seems to drink at more of a 9yr profile than the 7yr that it is. The finish continues to follow those citrus flavors with a great Kentucky (or would it be Las Vegas) hug. You can really tell that it is over 100 proof but it does not drink like 116 proof.

Retail price is $84.99
