Following the repeal of prohibition, Harry Lipman founded a liquor and wine distribution company in Franklin, Kentucky.
In 1939, Harry and Meyer Lipman, received the first wholesale liquor license in Tennessee, Tennessee State Permit No. Lipman Brothers still operates under this permit to this day. Upon receiving their permit, Lipman Brothers became the first distributor of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey. Simon Ford, founder and CEO of Fords Gin, came up with the idea for an ultimate cocktail gin with his friend on the back of a napkin at a local bar. From this napkin came Fords Gin, a collaboration between 8th generation Master Distiller Charles Maxwell of Thames Distillers and Simon Ford, dedicated to creating spirits designed in unison with professional bartenders and celebrated distillers from around the world.
