We’re so excited to have back in the shop for a Dry January tasting. Trunk Tea is born and raised right here in Birmingham. They are made with all natural ingredients, lightly-carbonated, and are straight up the BEST canned mocktails we’ve come across. And those ingredients make all the difference — what makes TT so special is how those fresh elements give you the sensation of a great cocktail rather than a bland facsimile. They are in themselves complex creations that you could even turn into proper cocktails once February comes around. If you’re doing Dry January, then you’ll really want to check this out.

Time to be thinking of Thanksgiving wines. This recent addition, Extra Ball Chinon, is 100% cab franc. It’s on the lighter side, but by its high acidity, bright fruit, and subtly funky finish will stand its ground with whatever big flavors you wanna throw its way. Pinot Noir lovers looking to switch things up will find plenty to love here.

FREE THURSDAY NIGHT WINE TASTING IS BACK! Join us this Thursday from 5 to 7 pm and to taste Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch! These are exceptional wines from Australia harvested from an extremely Earth-friendly vineyard — and the results are as amazing as the label art! These are all wonderful but we’re especially into the Riesling and the Shiraz. Hope to see you there! Bring a pal and say g’day!

We have a very special tasting tonight. Birmingham’s own Trunk Tea will be joining us tonight from 5-7pm. These are hands-down the best spirit-free cocktails we have tried. We know you are gonna feel the same.

Locally owned, operated, and manufactured, Trunk Tea utilize all-natural ingredients for the city’s best tasting mocktails. You may have seen them on the menu at Juniper or El Barrio — and now you can enjoy them in any social situation.

We’ve had several customers ask us about spirit-free products, and we’re convinced that you’re going to absolutely love these as much as we do. They’re available both as 4-packs and singles. You can even mix and match!

And, if you imbibe, they make great mixers (just saying)!

We’ll be hosting a tasting event soon — more details to come! In the meantime, some notes on each of the flavors are below.

The Aviation is made with juniper, lemon, cherry, and violet. Delightfully dry, floral, and vibrant.

The Bee’s Knees is made with local honey from Eastaboga, juniper, and lemon. This is their sweetest — and most popular — cocktail and have a bright and tangy flavor profile.

The Caipirinha is the most out-of-the-box flavor-wise. They use green tea and wasabi to replicate the delicate, herbaceous flavors of Cachaça. Light, herbal, and funky — this is Jim’s favorite.

The Cosmo has a seductively dark hue thanks to a more potent form of Cranberry. Slightly more tart than a traditional Cosmo, it’s fruit forward with bright orange notes.

Y’all have been asking us about catching a different kind of buzz — so we’re happy to introduce these Ayrloom Hemp drinks. These are the best tasting ones we’ve come across (so far). Nice lift and even better flavor. The Vanilla Coke (not pictured, but available) is highly recommended. We’ll hopefully have more of these and some other exciting non-alcoholic items on the near future. Stay tuned!

The heat is on everyone's mind, so this week's FREE THURSDAY NIGHT WINE TASTING will have an emphasis on *chill*. Josh from will be dishing out a few Spanish treats -- the Incandesa Sonoma (a sparkling Ancestral style brut) and the Conde Valdemar Rioja Rose (which is as lovely as its bottle) -- in addition to the Alain de la Trielle Loire Chardonnay. No cheese this week but you are welcome to bring paella. As ever, bottles pop at 5 and we'll be pouring until 7. No need to sign up -- just show up! See you tonight!

A little while back we were introduced to the Chenin Blanc by our pals at and fell in love. It was also begging to be paired with a nice cheese. So, for our next FREE THURSDAY NIGHT WINE TASTING, we thought it’d be nice to pair said wine with a variety cheeses and a few other wines suitable for our sultry climate, including this lovely Kate Arnold sauvignon blanc and a highly recommended old favorite from .

So join us this Thursday from 5-7pm for all the wine, cheese, and good times you can handle (or until supplies run out). Be a pal and bring a pal!

We are stocked back up on Sancerres — including this lovely new Silex from Lucien Raymond. Silex is arguably the most desired terroir of Sancerre and this friend tastes super clean while retaining all of the flinty magic one would expect from the Loire Valley. They’re nice and cold — so come grab a couple while you can! We’re open until 8pm!
