The J.C. Newman Yagua is a uniquely shaped cigar that is made using an age-old but rare rolling method. It was brought back by Lazaro Lopez, who is the general manager of Newan’s Puros de Estelí Nicaragua S.A, aka PENSA factory. The ci**rs are rolled using an under fermented (wet) wrapper. Once rolled, the ci**rs are wrapped and tightly bound by a leaf from the Yagua tree, aka Cuban Royal Palm. This rolling method was used by Lopez’s grandfather for his own private blend in Cuba many decades ago. This non-traditional process allows the ci**rs to develop their own unique shape and the wet leaf adds to the cigar’s strength and flavor profile.
