Our #1 selling sparkling wines, and for very good reason, from are back in and we just tasted them again in the shop. This was going to be the sparkling wine at my wedding last month but there was not enough available in time to provide it! The blanc reserve Brut is as good as the last time we had it, while the rose is BETTER! A little more time in bottle does wonders! Great for drinking anytime with all sort of foods (or none at all 🤣) or to load up for parties this holiday season!
Something we always try to have in the shop are , great bubbles and always traditional method if we can help it! The method to make bubbles traditionally just usually makes a better wine, not just texturally with stronger, smaller, tighter and more bubbles, but the aging time on the lees before it is corked and sold adds extra dimensions of aroma and flavor complexity. It's hard to beat top , and in fact I don't think anyone really can. But, for most champagnes that are under $35, these blow the doors off of those wines.
Also, champagne under $35 are just not that great. They are typically mass produced, watered down and light in bubbles...taking advantage of the name "Champagne" to put forward a poorly made product. Cava is a risky proposition unless you know the producers well, again, like champagne, you get what you pay for. SO, what I tell most of our clients and friends that ask, if you want great bubbles, particularly champagne quality, but do not want to pay champagne prices to stick to from Tissot if you can even find them (we HAVE them), cremant from Bodet-Herold in the Loire (have them too!), or like today's offer from Albert Bichot in ! These are both our go to shop sparkling wine and values.
