It’s been a while since we’ve posted anything, so hopefully all is well with you all as we move closer to the end of a trying year.
With that said it is with excitement for the future and trepidation of what’s happening that I let you all know the my wife Amy and I are selling the Superette. This has been in the works for awhile and will be coming to a finalization rather quickly. Our last full day of our operation of the Superette will be Monday, December 21. At that time we will be closing for the transition to the new owner. We are not disclosing the new owners name, as we don’t want to take anything away from them. Trust me when I say its a great thing for both parties involved.
The future is an exciting thing for us as I will move on to a new job, after the New Year. The saddest part however is leaving all of you. This community has been great to own a business in and become a part of. I’ve gotten to know and become friends with many of you, whether through the junior football program, you coming in the store or just on the streets. I’ve watched a lot of you become adults, parents, grand parents over the years. As you have all watched my family grow as well, from our kids playing dress up in the store years ago to our kids in college with our oldest graduating from college next week. Time really has flown by for the last 15 plus years that we’ve owned the store.
I will miss sitting with some of you in the morning or anytime shooting the breeze and solving world problems 1 little village at a time, as we would sometimes say. The talks usually involved anything from sports, to trivia, to useless information (thanks to the late George Mortimer), to the best of the tubbyisms (that’s what we called some of the late Tubby Mcpherson’s sayings). Anyway I seem to be rambling on. Hopefully you all understand our decision to sell, as well as welcome the new owner. Brandon and Steve will transition to the new owner as well.
Thanks again for welcoming my family into this great village.
