The sweetest group of girls came from East Tn for their homeschool field trip on Friday.
We went in the house so they could see where we make the bread for the store in grandma's kitchen, and all about the wood cook stove.
Then we cut some cane for them to chew on, tasted sorghum syrup, and toured the sorghum mill.

We LOVE when the young ones are curious and learn about our operation.

We sure don't want to disappoint anyone, especially those who travel a long distance to watch the sorghum making, so PLEASE SHARE AND SPREAD THE WORD!

UPDATE: The cane is not ready to be harvested. It was planted later than usual because of the weather. MUDDY POND SORGHUM MILL WILL BE IN OPERATION ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND AND MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH, BUT WILL BE VERY SHORT DAYS. WE WILL NOT MAKE AGAIN UNTIL SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH.
