Wine World is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our accounting team.

This position includes both accounting and HR responsibilities. While a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, any combination of experience and education will be considered.

Ideally, the candidate will have knowledge of accounting principles, Excel skills including formulas and formatting. Prior restaurant or retail industry experience is a plus.



Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Balance and post daily revenue entries for multiple locations

Daily Bank Reconciliations for multiple bank accounts

HR duties to including employee files, payroll, 401k administration, W-2s

Calculate and pay monthly sales commissions

Reconcile & pay sales & use tax monthly
Prepare various schedules and account reconciliations in Excel (prepaid rent, insurance, etc)

Cost of Goods reporting

Tracking, payment, and recording of imported wine containers

Posting monthly inventory transfers & balancing inventory to the GL

Ad-hoc calculations and comparisons as needed

Miscellaneous journal entries & assisting with month end close

Intercompany accounting experience a plus


Salary: Based on experience, to be discussed during interview.
