Good Evening from Thelma Carol Wine 🍾

We’ve recently received a wonderful amount of new followers (thank you!) so we thought it could be nice to introduce ourselves: we are Rebecca & Jerel, owners & operators of Thelma Carol Wine, located in beautiful historic Walker’s Point, MKE. Combined we share over 30 years of hospitality, wine, and spirits experience - having poured, paired, mixed, & sipped in restaurants, distilleries, cafes, breweries, fine dining, cocktail lounges, bottle shops- you name it, we’ve probably worked it πŸ™ˆ

Jerel is a Certified Sommelier with an expansive knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and beyond. Rebecca is a marketing, events, & hospitality professional who, on top of her years in the service industry, has over 7 years of experience curating & directing events for large community nonprofits.

Thelma Carol is a shop in which wine is treated as an inclusive pursuit to be celebrated and enjoyed by all who enter. We strive for a relaxing and energizing wine experience; blending the precision of a well managed bodega with the welcome comfort of a used bookshop.

The name Thelma Carol comes from a Grandmother of us each (yes, we are hitched!), Grandma TJ (Thelma June) is Jerel’s maternal Gram, and Gramma Carol, Rebecca’s. Both extraordinarily kind, hard-working, and steadfast female figures for us. Plus! They were both career librarians; the cosy, vintage library aesthetic is in homage to them. Also helps that’s it’s our personal aesthetic too πŸ₯°

We love our LGBTQ+ community and friends. We want everyone, regardless of race, gender, religion, & sexual orientation to know you are safe & welcome at TC Wine. And we cannot wait to welcome you. πŸ’Œ

Tasting time! This Thursday - We ARE drinking f***ing Merlot!

Back to our regularly scheduled weekly Thursday tasting, this time - we are drinking f***ing Merlot.

Sideways (2004) is widely considered to have heralded the death-knell for Merlot. Whether it was the one line from the film or not, the reverberations are still being felt a decade later β€” And perhaps avoiding certain commercially-made substandard offerings is a wise choice - as with every varietal, Merlot has its winners and its losers.

Join us for Burns Night this Saturday - a very special, very Scottish winter evening celebrating all things Robert Burns for his birthday, January 25th. Across Scotland you will find lavish dinners, ceremonial poetry readings, the piping in of the haggis, and course - Guid auld Scotch drink!

We’re toasting the great Scottish poet with a wee single malt tasting, of course.

We are so thrilled to be partnering once again with our friends at Siege Food Photo. Join us for a very special Tuesday evening on January 21st!

Chef Melissa Tantillo is the executive pastry chef at in Evanston, IL. She is the co-founder of a pop-up culinary experience hosted throughout various Midwest venues, as well as the owner of Siege Food Photo, a 2023 Pink Lady Food Photo Finalist.
