I've a million memories of my dad just like this: Running the grill, asking what I wanted, prepping for a family dinner in the summer. He was more of the cocktail generation than of fine wines. (Mateus was frequently poured in our household after G&Ts.) I'm not sure he ever enjoyed a nice Bordeaux or Burgundy. He'd like the drink he'd been handed...whatever it was.
