The back story behind this 100% Old-Vine Cabernet Sauvignon… Erika has worked in her family’s estate most of her life and took over winemaking duties when her father passed in 2011. She now tends her 14 hectares of densely-planted vines with the help of her Mother in the most natural way possible. The La Villa is grown on clay-rich soils, where it really shines. In fact, in this area it manages to enhance its most typical varietal characteristics. The grapes are hand-harveted, fermented in cement, and see a very short passage in wood, finally completing the refinement in bottle.

Frankly, this was one of the best Tuscan Cabs we’ve have tried in a while, to be honest, redolent of rich cassis, bright plums and blue fruits on a medium fat frame that ended in a long, fruit-filled finish. Absolutely delightful. 🍷
