It’s cocktail time!

Stop by to try one of our Dynamite Pete 🧨 inspired cocktails.

The Pete-A-Rita is a top-shelf margarita made with Don Ramon tequila, Cointreau & our new margarita mix,
Agalima.

Turkey in the Straw is a bourbon Old Fashioned. Turkey in the Straw was Pete’s favorite song to play on the fiddle and it is the name of our favorite cocktail. This one is made with Wild Turkey 101 (of course) and is cut with a bourbon barrel aged maple syrup from WhistlePig. It’s delicious and would make Pete proud.

Our third cocktail is the Powder Monkey - inspired by Pete’s days as, you guessed it, a Powder Monkey. It’s a rum based Old Fashioned. We start the rum steeped in a few pinches of Lapsang Souchong smoky black tea to give it that smoky flavor. It’s also mixed with the WhistlePig bourbon barreled age maple syrup, orange and aromatic bitters and finished with an orange peel and Luxardo cherry. A fitting tribute to our very own Powder Monkey.

Starting this week and concluding on Sunday (July 21st) of Dynamite Pete Days 🧨, every Michter’s bottle purchase at Louisville Liquors will receive a ticket and be entered into a raffle. The winner will receive the right to purchase this year’s Michter’s Barrel Proof Rye, a highly allocated bourbon from the distillery.

We only have 23 bottles of Michter’s bourbon, American Whiskey, Rye & Sour Mash, so your chances are pretty good - statistically speaking.

Also, be sure to stop by next weekend during Dynamite Pete Days to taste a few Dynamite Pete inspired cocktails. If you like them, we will have the cocktail kits available for purchase with recipe cards.

We will also be placing out allocated bottles randomly during the weekend, so be sure to stop in early and often to see if you can find something that’s not normally stocked on the shelves.

New to Louisville Liquors - Ben Holladay bourbon.

Distilled, aged and bottled just outside of Kansas City, MO, this bourbon is aged 6 to 7 years and received a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2022.

Ben Holladay bourbon has taken the bourbon world by storm and has received rave reviews from many of the most acclaimed bourbon enthusiasts around the country.

Stop in and grab a bottle of the 7 year Bottled-In-Bond bourbon or the 6 year Soft Red Wheat bourbon. You can find them on the barrel in the back by the humidor.

Today is officially National Beer Day, even though we choose to celebrate National Beer Day every day at Louisville Liquors.

If you're in the celebrating mood, stop on down and check out our beer selection. We celebrate IPA's both local and out-of-towners. We have porters, sours, domestics and international beers in stock.

And it wouldn't be National Beer Day if we didn't celebrate the granddaddy of them all, the Busch Light 30 pack. Not only is it the official beer of Louisville, but it is our best seller and we're pretty sure it would be our favorite child if beers were our kids.

It may be April 1st, but we aren’t foolin’

Again, this is not a joke. It is real, and apparently it is pretty darn good. This is Fireball whiskey aged in new charred oak barrels.

Here’s the description:

The origin of Fireball Dragon Reserve is as mysterious as the pyramids of ancient Egypt, UFOs, or the sudden urge to use the bathroom every time you’re in a bookstore. Legend has it that the dragon whispered into the Fireball Master Distillers’ ear, “I’ve put some Fireball Whisky into bourbon barrels to age. Literally, like, just straight Fireball. But the barrels are super premium so this stuff is gonna be gooooood.”

After a very long handful of months, the Fireball master distiller determined the batch was perfect. And from a barrel charred in the blazes of hell, Dragon Reserve was born.
