No signs of veraison at The Joy Fantastic yet, a week or two or three behind “normal.” We wait patiently and are in no rush! And no, that is not sulfur on the grapes and leaves, it is Surround, a clay based product that is helping us battle Pierce’s disease. 🤞

Matt’s Cellar Report: The hoarded stash is 🔥 right now! After extended spelunking into the cavernous depths of the stash, was able to pry a very small amount from Peter’s clutches.

•2016 JF Chard: first vintage! Fans of well made Jura Chardonnay will enjoy the slight gun flint smoke, citrus peel, bruised yellow apple. 7 bottles $55

•2014 HB Presquil Syrah: smells like cornas! Black pepper integrated perfectly with roasted meats and stewed rhubarb. 7 bottles $50

•2016 HB Franc de Pied Syrah: a St Joseph charcuterie board meets an Old Fashioned. Olive tapenade and luxardo cherry. Bright and wild. 6 labeled, 6 shiners. $45

• 2016 + 2018 HB Roussane: these back vintages have always been a personal favorite. 3-6 years from vintage is always awesome. You get this unctuous apricot/honeycomb with toasted hazelnuts that deepens each year. Plus a lively natural acidity that remains. ~12 bottles mixed $45
