After the bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941, members of the Japanese American community began being rounded by the FBI, a prelude to Executive Order 9066, which lead to the incarcerations of 125,000 Japanese Americans, including Tokio Ueyama and his family. Once they’re gone, they’re gone! ✨Staying true to Bunkado’s artist roots, we have a variety of Japanese rice paper! One is even made from green onions. ✨Tabi are a type of Japanese footwear that gives you a keen sense of whatever you’re walking on as the split toe is meant to promote balance - and they’re super flexible. We have a variety of sizes & even sole types! ✨And staying true to Bunkado’s past as a music store, we still carry a variety of Vintage Japanese Records! ✨We also love and carry different kinds of traditional Japanese stationery like calligraphy boards!
