A 14 year, Double-Maturation Single Blended Rum, consisting of both Artisanal Pot and Traditional Twin Column Coffey distilled molasses rums.
Aged first for 10 years in Ex-Bourbon Barrels, then 4 additional years in Ex-Calvados Casks.
All aging, blending and bottling occurring entirely on-site, at Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados.
Bottled at 60% ABV - 120 Proof.
TASTING NOTES
Initial Impressions: Complex and intriguing, dark, compelling layers reveal themselves more and more over time in glass.
Aroma: Chocolate Truffles, Maduro Cigar, Pipe To***co & Humidor - there is an earthy and rich element in the nose, balanced by rounded fruits and a bright apricot / orange blossom floral note in the background.
Palate: Rich and expressive but with an underlying bright citrus note - layers of berries, cacao beans, caramelized orange and a hint of nuttiness evolve into subtle spice, leather and a hint of pipe to***co on the close. Overall bold and complex that lingers on the palate.
Foursquare Rum Distillery was re-opened by the Seale family in 1996.
Distilling operations and blending are currently directed by Richard Seale, the 4th Generation of R.L. Seale & Co (est. 1926).
Exceptional Cask Selections represent the unique, limited and rare offerings of Foursquare Rum Distillery that Richard has hand selected, only released when he feels they are of exceptional quality. Each release is one of a kind, only available for a limited time, and showcase truly unique approaches to both Rum blending and maturation.

The Carthusian monks have produced Chartreuse since the early 1700s, with the present-day recipe finding its roots in a 1605 “elixir for long life.” The concoction, containing over 100 botanicals, was tweaked for the green and yellow bottlings known today. But what many may not know is that a version of the original Chartreuse is still distilled in accordance with the 17th- century recipe.

Affectionately called “the elixir,” Végétal is the pure expression of the original Chartreuse. Where green and yellow Chartreuse are distilled multiple times and then aged in barrels, Végétal undergoes only one distillation and is bottled unaged in 100-milliliter packaging at 69 percent ABV. In essence, Végétal drinks like an undiluted, more concentrated version of green Chartreuse.
