For over two decades, Pepe Hernandez has dedicated his life’s work to improving social and environmental conditions within the agave spirit supply chain. Over the last year plus, he has become a close friend and impact partner to Valor and the Gente Buena Foundation, building strong bonds with the community around our distillery and coordinating efforts across multiple institutions to address pressing community needs. Just within the short year of our collaborative efforts, Pepe’s leadership has fostered new opportunities for gender equality and women’s resilience through a partnership with UN Women, training and profession and professional development in sustainable agriculture and reforestation, new health and human services for community members, and strengthened social bonds and commitments to community development.
