Hello Friends,
I wanted to send out a post to clear up some of the rumors and misinformation going around. My husband and I are the new owners of Moran's Liquor Works. We were very excited to take over this wonderful little liquor store and growler room from the Bahm family, who did a great job in growing the business into a beloved neighborhood spot.
Since we've taken over the business in November, a zoning issue was brought to our attention regarding our proximity to residential. This zoning issue limits our functionality in the growler room to "tastings", which in the city of Lincoln means we are only able to serve 5 one-ounce servings to any one person to be consumed on premises within a 24-hour period. This has forced us to temporarily close the growler room until we can get these issues worked out. There is no impact to the bottle shop, which continues to operate in the same capacity in which it always has been.
Our lawyers are diligently working through the issues and we hope to be up and running again very soon. I cannot speak to what the Bahm family experienced in their pursuit to function as they did in the growler room, I can only speak to our experience since we've taken over. There is no ill will toward the previous owners, and we both share a commitment to getting the growler room back to normal.

Get Ready for Moran's Oktoberfest!

Hey Moran’s Fans,

Join us for an unforgettable Oktoberfest celebration this Saturday, September 28th, from 3 PM to 10 PM!

Be sure to bring your own stein to fill or we will have a limited supply for sale as well.

We're tapping 5 unique Oktoberfest beers and 3 additional German styles, along with cider, wine, and a Maple Old Fashioned cocktail. Chez Hay will be serving up delicious German food to pair perfectly with your drinks, including Currywurst & Fries, Brats & German Potato Salad, and a Sloppy BBQ Mac sandwich.

Don't miss out on our limited supply of huge German-style pretzels from Bert's Bakehouse. And of course, no Oktoberfest party is complete without live polka music! The Leo Lonnie Trio will be here to keep you dancing and entertained from 7 PM to 9 PM.
