Our last day in this cherished space has officially arrived. It’s been an incredible past 12+ years. A heartfelt “thank you” to every individual who helped make Wine + Market such a wonderful place and business over the years - we’ve done so much together! As a friend recently wrote, there will always be a Wine + Market sized hole in our hearts.

🍷🧀 Over the past few months I’ve enjoyed buying wine from and Corner Wine - I hope you will, too! And, as W+M’s door totally closes, opens in just a few days with incredible cheese, charcuterie, wine, liquor, beer, wine + cheese bar, and more! You might recognize a few familiar faces, and the owners Brady and Megan are wonderful people. And, you might recognize many of the wines! I was honored to be hired as the wine consultant for Cibon’s opening set. Please visit them and sit down for a glass, or buy a bottle and a couple hunks of fantastic cheese to take home. 🥂

🏠 As far as this quaint corner of Second + Jefferson is concerned, the former W+M space is for available rent. Keith Clark has been our fantastic landlord over the years and he’s great to work with. If you or someone you know is looking for a location, please consider this bright and charming space! (See photo for contact info.)

Underneath the wine room table, the back half hasn’t been completely clear in quite some time. Over the past couple of years, my oldest son loved to crawl underneath and make tunnels between the empty boxes. While clearing out the table, I just found the Spider-Man sticker he stuck to the floor at some point, and this sight brings tears to my eyes.
Although he could be a distraction, I am going to miss the time when my boy was with me at the shop. I loved making little cheese plate snacks for him and getting his activities set up to keep him occupied while I worked.
Last night we told him that we were closing Wine + Market and that it would be gone -I could believe it- he started crying. He said he didn’t want it to go, and that he “loved its food the bestest.” Broke my heart, and I cried. I’ll miss my shop so much. (And the little bracelets he liked to make for himself with the price gun.)
