The Gem of Kentucky is the premiere offering from 2XO. The only double barreled single barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey on the market. The barrels are exclusively selected by Dixon from his double barreled stocks of the high rye bourbon mash bill (35%) that spend up to a year in new charred oak barrels before bottling. It is a full-bodied, full-flavored expression that leans on Dixon’s unique double-barreling process for a richer and more viscous mouthfeel. The differing char levels on the secondary barreling allow complex flavors to develop and balance the spicy finish from the high rye distillate.

This bourbon is selected from a limited run of just 61 barrels, each barrel rigorously assessed and chosen for its exceptional character during maturation. The single barrel process ensures that every bottle delivers a unique and refined tasting experience, ideal for those with a discerning palate.

On the nose, Old Soul presents dominant aromas of cherry and vanilla, complemented by subtle hints of maple syrup and nutty undertones. The initial taste reveals a sweet vanilla core, followed by rich flavors of hazelnut and fresh leather. This combination creates a well-rounded profile that is both complex and inviting.

The finish of Old Soul Single Barrel 109 is marked by a peppery spice that gradually melds into notes of dark chocolate and toffee. PUNTAGAVE RUSTICO Mezcal is produced using a more ancient form of distillation that has retained deep ties to indigenous cultures across the country. Most traditional Mezcals are made from Agave Espadin like ours. Mezcal traditionally has a unique, smoky flavor that makes it fairly easy to distinguish from tequila. It also tends to taste sweeter, richer, and smoke-filled than tequila.

PUNTAGAVE Mezcal follows the traditional method of using underground pits. A fire is started and burns for about 24 hours to heat the volcanic stones that line the pit. The agave heads are put into the pit and then covered with moist fiber that is left over from the fermentation process. A layer of agave leaves or woven palm leaves cover the fibers and the agave heads are left to cook two to three days.

TASTING NOTES: Moderate oak & sweet agave with complex aromas of fresh green vegetables and touches of pepper. Long viscous finish with lasting oak and notes of cedar.

In this expression, we imbue our award-winning Straight Rye Whiskey with even more flavor. Once fully matured, we finish Toasted Rye in a second, custom-toasted new oak barrel; adding a balanced layer of sweet oak complexity.

THE RYE MASHBILL
While the finishing process for Toasted Rye is similar to our Toasted Barrel Bourbon, the difference lies in the mashbill. It’s 51% rye grain instead of corn: the legal requirement for this style of American Whiskey.

A true collaboration, Blackberry Farm Brewery and Bardstown Bourbon Co. collaborated on a custom blend of 6 to 14 year old bourbon, then finished it in their signature Oxheart stout barrels for 17 months. This limited release of only 10 barrels will be available exclusively in Kentucky and Tennessee, and is sure to elicit sensory delight through this beautiful blend of 100% Kentucky bourbon.

TASTING NOTES

Dark chocolate, honey, and toasted oak lead to a decadent palate of mocha and cinnamon. The rich mouthfeel evolves into a lasting finish of marshmallow, vanilla, and malt.

DETTLING BOTTLED-IN-BOND

The 2019 release was the first spirit ever made in Alabama history that meets the strictest standards set forth in the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897. Our founders favorite spirit category, the act requires a single distiller, barreled in a single season, minimum four years in new American Oak charred barrels, and bottled at a required proof of 100.

DETTLING SINGLE BARREL CASK STRENGTH

Aged at least 4 years in new American Oak #3 char barrels, these barrels are hand picked by Seth Dettling for extended aging. These barrels tend to come from the upper portions of the rickhouse, which experience the greatest temperatures. The extreme dark color and richness of the whiskey shows the potential for bourbon aged in our climate.
