Happy Holidays!

A few things to let you know.....

First, the ATO guys raised $6200 from their volunteering efforts at the Kansas Speedway the other month! Way to go!!

Also, because of your contributions to the Parents Club, we have treated the guys to late night snacks during Finals week- Pizza, Wings, Ice Cream, and Cookie nights to help them power through their hours of studying.

You’ll notice 4 great new couches in the Foyer and Formal room thanks to the alumnae and their donations to the 1537 Improvement Fund. Thank you!

Finally, Moms mark your calendars for Saturday, April 4th, for our ATO Moms Day. Details and signups to follow.

Brought a little Holiday Cheer to the ATO House this afternoon! Trees in the Formal and Dining Rooms, a beautiful mantle display and we left behind cookies and popcorn for the guys! Thank you to the Freunds and the Isoms for all of their help! We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Getting ready for a great start to the school year! Many updates made over the summer because of the generosity of alumnae and parents. See some of the pictures below of the new hardwoods and paint for the Formal Room, updated bathroom, and new Flag pole/refreshed landscaping! 11:00 Welcome to the House...check-in, view/bid on Silent auction items.

11:45-1:30 Luncheon at the house to include Senior video, tributes from Senior’s Moms, ATO Exec Update and Moms Club Update.

1:30-2:30 Bid and close out Silent auction.

2:30-4:00 Free time with son.

4:00-5:00 Meet at Wayne and Larry’s SportsBar for pool, shuffleboard, 5:45 Buffet Dinner.

6:00-8:00 Head to Spring Football Game Festivities or stay and Bowl at 7:30 at Royal Crest Lanes (next door to Wayne and Larry’s) or Free time.

Sunday, April 14th

10:00 Brunch at Merchants

The luncheon will be provided by the house. Cost for Saturday Dinner is $20 per person. If you will be joining us for Sunday Brunch, that is $20 per person.

Please Venmo ATO Parents Club for the total or mail a check to ATO Parents Club at 496 Lakeshore Drive West, Lake Quivira, KS 66217 in the next week as your RSVP.

If you are donating an auction item and can have it shipped or dropped to the House on Friday evening, that would be ideal. If not possible, please bring Saturday morning. Also, please email Suzanne Bonney a description and picture beforehand.

We have our first basket for the Mom’s Weekend Auction - “Relax & UnWine”

This is a great basket for the Mom who wants to relax after a long day. It contains a beautiful handmade large wooden bowl – wonderful for a snack, the Cool Mom wine glass, marble cheese board & cutter, wine theme plaque, tea towel, & napkins and finally a bottle of Red Wine! (It’s valued at $200). What more can you ask for!

Rock Chalk,

My name is Suzanne Bonney, and I will be coordinating the silent auction for the Mom’s Luncheon on Saturday, April 13th. My son Alex is a senior in the House. For those who are not familiar with the Silent Auction, this fundraiser event raises funds for a special House project. Last year’s project was the lighted ATO Letters at the driveway curb that you have seen while visiting the House. A priority this year is to update the Formal Room. The guys would really benefit from having nice furniture, lighting, etc. so auction proceeds would go towards that as well as any other needs the Executive Team and House Director would identify.

We had a good turnout last year and would like to have a great turnout this year (especially as this is my final year). As this is for the guys, it would be wonderful if everyone can participate in donating and bidding. If you cannot make the day, your son can bid on items in your place, except for any alcohol items if they are under 21 years old. If you cannot attend, or do not have the time to put something to together, we can use monetary donations to add to other items or create new ones.

I have attached a list with some ideas for baskets or standalone items. Items such as ATO ties, tie clip, beer mugs, etc. have been very popular. I would like to ask if you can send description to me prior so we can track items/baskets beforehand. We would love a photo to be show on our page if the item/basket is ready before the weekend. It will help get everyone’s attention and excited to spend some money.
