Don't recommend playing on the ice.

Cold weather means bodies of water may be iced over. Ice is never 100% safe, especially in areas where water levels fluctuate or if there is a current. The minimum guideline for walking or fishing on new, clear ice is 4-inches thick. Check ice thickness before you venture out.

**ADDENDUM 1-8-2025 • 10 AM (regarding routes not accessible)

IMPORTANT SERVICE UPDATE FOR APPLE VALLEY WASTE CUSTOMERS‼️❄️

In West Virginia & Washington Co., Maryland🍎
We will NOT be operating Tuesday, January 7th‼️

All Monday customers, please hold your trash until next week, and we will service this week AND next week’s trash on Monday Jan 13th (i.e. we will take double the volume 1/13).

For recycling Monday customers, if you have weekly service, you will be picked up double also on 1/13, however if your recycling is every other week and your service date was 1/6, please hold that recycling until your next recycling service date on 1/20/205.

All other AVW customers will be on a one-day delay this week. Please put trash out the night before as follows:

➡️ Tuesday customers serviced Wednesday (place your trash or recycling out Tues. night)
➡️ Wednesday customers serviced Thursday (place your trash or recycling out Wed. night)
➡️ Thursday customers serviced Friday (place your trash or recycling out Thurs. night)
➡️ Friday customers serviced Saturday (place your trash or recycling out Fri. night)

If you have questions regarding your service, our office will be open today during regular business hours. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we put the safety of our crew and the public first with all servicing delay decisions.

**ADDENDUM: If you live on a route that includes access roads that have not been cleared and safe for our trucks and crews to navigate, we will be double servicing your account on your next service day next week. So, if you have placed your can/trash out on the day directed above in this post and it does not get picked up, we will make sure next week we get both weeks in one stop.

IMPORTANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR OUR APPLE VALLEY WASTE CUSTOMERS‼️

Due to the forecasted weather ❄️ conditions in our surrounding area, we will not be operating our Monday services (1-6-2025). The safety of our crews is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.

For the remainder of this week, all services will be on a one-day delay. Please take note of the updated schedule below:

➡️ If you are a Monday customer, please set your trash out Monday night for Tuesday pickup.
➡️ If you are a Tuesday customer, please set your trash out Tuesday night for Wednesday pickup.
➡️ Wednesday customers will be serviced Thursday.
➡️ Thursday customers will be serviced Friday.
➡️ Friday customers will be serviced Saturday.

Our office will be reopening on Tuesday, weather permitting. We will keep you updated daily on our page and website.
