Palate: Sweet, fruity, dark flavors. Caramel combined with raspberry, chocolate covered cherries, leather, and oak on the forefront. Then apple pie, rye spice and walnut flavors enter later. Buttery mouthfeel creates an enjoyable sip.
Finish: Leather, cigar and dry oak. Very slight cherry undertone.

Patton Armored Diesel: Cane Spirits finished in Oak Bourbon Barrels

One of the first armored officers of the United States Army, General G.S. Patton, Jr. is believed by many to be the father of modern armored warfare. He expressed his admiration for the armored division through acts meant to instill camaraderie and pride within the troops he commanded. One such act was the creation of a special drink for his beloved Armored Divisions called “Armored Diesel.”

“Armored Diesel” is derived from a beverage made famous by the 2nd Armored Division during World War II. The actual recipe has a number of variations, but was generally considered a mixture of bourbon, whiskey, scotch and white wine. One recipe even adds a shot of cherry juice to symbolize “the blood of our enemies.”

The Patton Museum gives this recipe for Armored Diesel: bourbon, shaved ice, sugar, and lemon juice.

Proof: 80
Nose: Sweet w/ light cherry and lemon notes.
Palate: Sweet with some to***co notes. Softens and mellows more when chilled with ice.
Finish: Medium. Oaky dryness.

Do you know about 82nd Airborne bourbon?

The 82nd Airborne Division Association designed and sponsored this bourbon and worked with Boundary Oak Distillery to produce it. The project was called “Operation Bourbon.” This distillery located in Radcliff, Kentucky, is now a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour and is responsible for distilling and bottling 82nd Airborne Bourbon.

The bottle is beautiful with an emblem of the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division Association. The emblem features Airborne’s word, followed by the statement “Americas Guard of Honor.” The distinctive AA patch worn on the unit’s soldiers’ shoulders appears prominently on the bottle. The AA stands for All American because it eventually held members from all 48 states and from all walks of life, to fight for our nation during WWI.

Vance only used half of the barrel for this project. Yielding only 100 bottles.
The other half was held back and is currently being blended with another mash bill to make Vance's Private Reserve Barrel #11.

Ryujin, the deity of the sea in Japanese myths, is one of the most important of all Japanese dragons. Recognizing the most significant dragon in Japanese culture gave rise to the bold and vibrant flavors of the Ryujin whisky.

Fruity and floral notes throughout the taste, with honey, orange peel and white chocolate flavors. Mellow finish with a hint of oak.

Obtainium Canadian Whisky Aged 26 years

With a hazmat warning on the label at 156 proof, a brave few will drink it neat otherwise a cube or a few drops of water could be added. This is a low rye, non-spice Canadian blend with a creamy vanilla, creme brulee finish that must be tried.
