Porta d’Armas is a delicious red from the region of Dão, Portugal. This red received amazing scores of 91 points from Wine & Spirits (Top 100 Best Buys and Year’s Best Northern Portugal Reds), also 90 points Wine Enthusiast, Best Buy. It has grape varieties of Touriga Nacional, Jaen and Alfrocheiro. Porta d’Armas is aged for 8 months in heavy toasted barrels. This red has red fruit without being too ripe and a sharp acidity. There are notes of dark chocolate and smoke that are lightly present leaving the fruit to shine.
