Memorial Day is this Monday. The greatest maritime disaster in US History was largely overshadowed by the end of the Civil War, the assassination of President Lincoln, and the death of John Wilkes Booth, all of which occurred in the few weeks and days leading up to the accident. All these years later, a museum honoring those soldiers, who barely survived the war and prison camps, trying to return home is FINALLY being built with private funds. Deadline for a 1-million-dollar Fed Ex grant to complete construction is May 31st. AND HERE I GO!!! The Town of Farragut, one of the alleged most “business friendly” cities in the State, told us that the routine maintenance recently done to our street sign after the very long, and costly to us, TDOT construction process, makes that sign a “new sign” to them and that as such this “new sign” does not meet current code. In short, the sign, which has existed for over 30 years, is no longer grandfathered in. Over 30 years. Same exact spot.

So three of our only six current employees, spent part of the day yesterday, not waiting on customers, but removing that sign. Ironically, just a few months ago, every BOMA politician in this Town up for reelection was asking to put their own signs up on the property. And we allowed it. Now after the election, some of them could not be bothered to even respond to our inquiries about this. We will survive. We won’t forget, but we will survive. Elections come and go.

P.s. Someone tell Little Joes whatever they do not to touch their sign! They also cannot meet current code and The Fuhrer is watching!

Great article in the Farragut Press highlighting the financial impact Farragut Business has on all revenue the Town receives. Thank you to Vice Mayor Povlin for pointing out what a lot of people do not realize: before sales tax is ever collected, a separate city tax is collected and paid directly to Farragut on all liquor purchased by this towns liquor stores. ✌️❤️👇

In honor of what would have been the animal activist and actress’s 100th birthday on January 17th, 2022, Dixie Lee will be having a bourbon sale. Here is how the sale works.
1. 22 Total Bottles will be up for sale.
2. One entry per person.
3. To enter, you must donate to a local animal shelter or mission of your choice.
4. There is no minimum donation required, but we encourage you to be as generous as you can. Every bit helps.
5. You must then post on this thread proof (in the form of an image receipt, etc) that you have donated. You can hide personally sensitive and identifiable information obviously, but your entry/proof should include an indication that the donation took place sometime on or after the date of this posting.
6. All donations and entries must be submitted no later than midnight January 17, 2022.
7. We will put all entrants’ names into a randomizer as soon after January 17, 2022 as we can. The first 22 persons on the list chosen by the randomizer will choose, in order, which bottle they would like. Winning entrants must pick up bottles themselves, within one week of the public announcement of winners.
8. We will video tape and post to this thread the running of the results of the randomizer, and winners, in the interest of full transparency.
9. The 22 bottles available for sale will be: Elmer T Lee (x2), Colonel Taylor Single Barrel (x2), Colonel Taylor Small Batch (x2) Weller CYPD (1), Weller 107 (x2), Weller Special Reserve (x7), Hancock Reserve Single Barrel (x2), Buffalo Trace Kosher Rye (x2), Buffalo Trace Kosher Wheat (x2)
10. All bottles will be sold at or below standard retail pricing.

Next Saturday 11/20 from 11:00-2:00 p.m. we will be having an Angel’s Envy Bottle Engraving. If your looking for an early Christmas Present before supply chain issues get worse, now is your chance.

The engraving can include simple images like sports team logos, or a persons name, or words and phrases. The more text, the smaller the font will be, but normal 12-15 word phrases up to three lines would be legible.

The engraving is FREE. The bottles will be while supplies last. You can take your chances by showing up to the engraving the day of the event to get a bottle, or you can buy your bottle before the event (recommended), pay for it, leave your engraving form, and then subsequently pick it up whenever you like. We have forms available in store for you to fill out. Cheers!
