Here we are rolling through summer. Can't believe we're rapidly approaching August. Time really does fly when you're having fun!

The Gas Pedal has accomplished a few more goals, and more great updates are on there way! Our community seems to be growing and changing too!

From new young families moving into the neighborhood, to burgeoning businesses working to revive the area, we're seeing some great progress!! Lynn Garden, Kingsport, TN, keep letting that little light shine! We love to see our community flourish! So very proud of all you do!

As we continue to grow, and change, that sometimes means saying goodbye to those lovely older customers, and those who departed way too soon. These sweet people were more family, than customers.

Mr. Dale, we'll always remember the smile on your face every time you walked through our doors. We could count on it like clockwork. Smile on your face, story on your lips. It was always worth the wait. We'll cherish every conversation. We're so glad we had the opportunity to know and love you!

Shawn, you're just gone way too soon. We're still trying to wrap our heads around it! You brought us so much fun! We'll miss your infectious laugh, the way you turned a phrase, and the humor and jokes you shared with us. Love and respect sweet friend.

We'll look after all these created memories. God rest these beautiful souls.

Remember: Always greet someone in love and kindness. They're living a life. It may be different, or more complicated than the one you're living, but different is just that, different! You don't have to understand it, but should try to respect it.

Aesop said, "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted!"

Good June 24th Morning to Everyone! We couldn't think of a better way to start the day, then to announce the winner of our Mother's and Father's Days drawing. CONGRATULATIONS TO DERRICK GILMAN on winning the TCL 32" Smart TV! We applaud Derrick's win, and all the Mom's and Dad's out there.

In 1961, The Peace Corps coined the phrase, "The toughest job you'll ever love," but we think parenting has them beat by one, or a gaggle of kids! Thank you to all the hard working Mom's and Dad's in our community, and beyond who constantly make things happen for their families. We're proud of all of you for the incredibly difficult, but immensely rewarding job you do! THANK YOU, and TIP OF THE HAT!

Well hello community!! Certainly lots happening since our last post. Construction is still on-going, but what progress! Keep looking for our new and improved in 2022. Please come in and check out what we've accomplished thus far! We're amazed, and we hope you are too! Still more on the way. Just a little side note: It's sometimes the little things that make the biggest impact...Check out our new cooler LED lights. They really make a difference, and are super sharp!

Word has it our new shelving has arrived, and will be installed, fingers crossed, in April. Also being added is outdoor seating for lottery scratching, lunch with a friend, or for taking a stretch during a long journey. Indoor digital displays/community boards, outdoor signage, new coffee bar and front end all planned for later this year! Whew! Lots of work for sure, but I'm excited just thinking about these changes! We still can't believe how extraordinarily blessed, and proud we are to be a part of this hard working community!!

We're also working hard to earn your business, and your trust.
If there is something we can do to improve our footprint, or there is a particular product you would like to see added to our inventory, drop in and let us know! We'll make every effort to add your choice to our growing list of products, or an idea into the improvement of our community store!

Well, here we are into the 12 Days of Christmas, and oh what fun it is. If you haven't joined us for our daily drawing, please come by to take advantage of the Christmas fun! Every day from December 13th through Decemeber 24th, 2021 we have drawn and will draw for some wonderful prizes. From luggage to handbags, and lots of things in between. There is a prize up for grabs every day, right up until Christmas Eve! It's simple too. Stop by, fill out a card, and drop it in the bowl for your chance to win. It's that easy.

We'd also like to invite you to come in, and check out our on-going renovations. After several hiccups, we're getting closer to the finish line. From top to bottom, we're improving our footprint. Hey Gang, It's been awhile since we posted, but we have some exciting news to share. Our inside remodeling has begun! Talk about burning the candle at both ends! Somehow we feel like we've melted to the middle. But, as with anything in life, sometimes you have to jump in, trust your instincts, and learn to swim along the way. We've made great strides as we continue to look toward the finished product! Our ideas are big, our hearts are full, our goals are set and we're honored to be a part of this reburgeoning community!

The Gas Pedal, a Shell Station, is located in the suburb of Lynn Garden, which is a part of the greater Kingsport, TN area, and is an Icon to its location. We're privileged to be a part of, and serving this HARD WORKING community, not to mention, the BEST CUSTOMERS in the world! Here we are about 6 months in. It's hard to believe we've come this far in such a short period of time.

With the big help of some talented people, we've installed new gas pumps, new security, we've repaired the walk-in cooler, cleaned the entire store from top to bottom, and inside and out, installed new cabinets and displays, painted the exterior, installed new LED lights on the exterior and canopy, corrected plumbing issues, repaired doors, and our list goes on. Still have sidewalks to paint, but that's not too far off. Waiting for the rain to move out, and then Voila! Before long she'll be shining like a new penny.

We have moved inside for some cosmetic repairs. We brought down the old light sucking mirrors, and started the sheetrock and finish work(nights). Paint, new ceilings, new shelving, new coffee bar, front end, and flooring will not be far behind. We've accomplished all these things while keeping the store open for the greatest customers in the world! Lynn Garden Rules!

On July 1st our old pumps (the ones we would "Fonzie" into submission for customers on a daily basis, the ones that would just have to see one of us coming and begrudgingly snap into working order) were retired for some much needed rest. You served the station well and were a fun addition to our already overloaded stress levels! We thank you for your truly unique service. You certainly provided us with some much needed gas pump education!

So, after 4 months of working the ole "Fonzie Magic," and our "older than Methuselah, brought back to life more times than Lazarus" comedy routine, the old pumps were retired and the new pumps arrived to enthusiastic applause and kowtows! OK, ok...it was just me providing all the fanfare! Truly haven't behaved that way since, my younger self, seeing Donnie Osmond! Awwww, the things we do for "Puppy Love!"

This is our new business venture. We're in the improvement stages right now, but are fully operational. It's a dawn til dusk, nose to the grindstone adventure. We have lots of big plans for it's future, but as with life, it's crawl, walk, run. We're crawling along right now, but walk, and run aren't too far behind!!

We have the greatest customers, in the greatest neighborhood! The prior owner was here for almost 18 years!! Wow!! We've got some big shoes to fill for sure. Working out those shoe sizes right now!

What makes it much easier for us to adjust is the hospitality, from the community and customers. It's been truly amazing to be welcomed this way. Southern hospitality at it's finest!
