Firefighters from Horseshoe Bay and Marble Falls Area FD are deploying to California to assist with the ongoing wildfires. They could be gone for up to 21 days. Dillon Jearl Carl, known affectionately as Dillon to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, in Kingsland, Texas, at the age of 25. Born on June 1, 1999, in Midland, Texas, Dillon was a spirited soul who brought laughter and joy to all who knew him.

Dillon was the beloved son of Sherry McAnally Carl and the late Arthur Jearl Carl. He was a cherished brother to Amy Jane Thompson and John Lance Bailey, who, along with his wife Tabitha, will hold Dillon's memory dear. His loving grandmothers, Jane Horton and the late Violet Carl, as well as his late grandfathers, Peet Carl and Jimmy McAnally, were integral parts of his life, providing wisdom and love throughout his journey. Dillon cherished his nephews; Ezra, Preston, Nicholas, and Christopher. He also had many aunts, uncles, cherished cousins, and extended "Brothers," and friends.
