TIME TO DO SOME DAMAGE CONTROL...
Well, we have someone here in the Keno community that is not only accusing but, slandering me, my employees and my business, right before we change over ownership to Ed Staub & Son's.
Let's see....His exact comment was: "the owner is freaking idiot I was being dbl charged by the employees and when I went to get my money back she treated me like I was trying to rip her off took over 2 weeks to get my money back. It seems like and was told she never kept a till."
Well Well......Let me tell a little story about this man who has made this accusation! A man who could never sit still long enough to wait for his card to run through, so he would rush and take it out of the credit card terminal before it was done. This sometimes would double charge the card, if it was already answered by their bank on the other end. He knew this cause, he had done this several times and had it happen to him more than once. (It has also happened to a few others out there that removed their cards too soon and those who have had it done to them, know very well, we always paid back the amount that was double charged with no problems. Luckily, we finally got rid of that terminal and this problem never happened again!)
Now, back to this particular customer. He called me on January 3rd, at 6:18 pm, and yes, I have it all documented, as I do with everything that happens there, just for these kinds of reasons! His message stated as follows: "Hello Robin Happy New Year! On new years eve my card was charged twice for $115.57 can you call me at...(his number). Should have just been once". I messaged him back and asked if it was after 1 pm so I can find out what shift this was and to find the credit card slip so I would have a transaction number to use when I called the credit card company, in order to resolve this problem. I found the slip and told him to call me. When I got him on the phone, he was irritated and wouldn't calm down. I told him not to worry and that I would make it right. I told him his bank said he would be fully reimbursed however, it could take up to a couple of weeks or longer since he banked at a Credit Union and sometimes they take longer to process these kinds of reimbursements. He told me he didn't want to wait and wanted his money NOW! He was going crazy on the phone, like I have never heard him before. My husband told me that he could wait until his bank processed his money however, He was very agitated and wouldn't calm down and I didn't want to chance the way he was acting towards me so therefore, I put the $115.57 in a envelope, took it down to the station along with the paper work I received from my credit card company the very next morning and gave it to Mike, my head gas attendant. He was called and told his money was down there for him to pick up. Mike tried to show him everything but, he threw the paperwork back at him, yelled out loud that I was a bitch and tore out of our parking lot! For the actions he had taken, the way he spoke to me and by his actions and the way he treated Mike, we decided to 86 this customer from our business. It DID NOT take him two weeks to get his money. He had it paid in full the very next day! I was willing to do whatever I had to do to make it right for this customer so therefore, I paid him back immediately!
He lied in his statement and he knows he lied! I stayed calm and tried to reason with him on the phone but he was too hysterical to talk to him. Again, there was no reason for this kind of behavior and he knew I was good for the money. I did finally get a message from his wife, not two weeks later, not a month later but, on March 4th, two months later stating that, their bank finally deposited the money into their account and that she needed our address to send me a check for reimbursement of what I had paid him. ( Let me make one thing perfectly clear. This mans wife had nothing to do with this and in any way, do I hold her responsible or accountable for her husbands actions with this matter). This is the truth and I have all the messages and documentation as well as film on how he drove out of our parking lot! I have absolutely no reason to lie about this. For God's sake, I gave this man money to sponsor him and his car so why would I do him wrong?
Now as for the two that made those statements, "that their glad someone bought it that will treat people right" and "that it sounds like I was doing some shady deals....the state might have shut me down or forced me to sell", you just might want to take that back and how dare you, since you don't know anything about me, my employees or my business!! As for that others that don't do business with us, I hope you do, do business with Ed Staub and Son's cause, we worked hard to keep this gas station open with or without you, and it would be sad to see it close again!
Now, if any of you feel the need to confirm my side of the story, please, just pull on into the station, on any day that both Mike or Lin are working and they will be happy to confirm it all to you, since they were there! Or, you can also talk to my Husband, who also was home when all of this happened! It's a sad day when someone has to defend themselves to someone else's lies, especially when the other people believe them! If you ever want to know something about me or my business, please feel free to ask. I or my employees have nothing to hide! And one quick note, this happened two years ago New Years Eve, and those same employees that were working at this time are still there and will still be working there after Ed Staub & Son's takes over so, I want to make it clear, he will still be dealing with the same ones he accused of double charging the customers so, all eyes will be on him when he does come back! Trust me on this since they now know what he accused them of and they will make sure he doesn't accuse them of this it again as well as Ed Staub & Son's! His false accusations will not be tolerated!
I hope this settles this matter once and for all and I can only hope for everyone to have a wonderful rest of their week! I know I will with my clear, clean conscience.

P.S. I posted this to reassure the community that, I, nor my employees, are not nor ever have stolen or double charged anyone, as we have been wrongly accused of from this particular individual and that if anyone has ever felt this way, to please contact me so we can resolve this problem immediately!
