How Sweet! The Ladies of Alpha Sigma Alpha; Zeta Eta Chapter at Rockhurst University sent us Holiday Greetings!
Dear Alumnae Sisters,
Merry Christmas and warm holiday greetings from the sisters of Alpha Sigma Alpha Zeta Eta!
As the year comes to a close, we reflect on the moments that made this year special and are filled with gratitude for the legacy and support you, our alumnae, have provided. Your contributions have shaped our chapter’s history, and we are proud to carry on the traditions of Alpha Sigma Alpha in honor of those who came before us.
This past year has been a season of growth and celebration for our chapter. Here are just a few highlights of what we’ve accomplished:
ASA Convention Awards: This summer, Zeta Eta proudly brought home four prestigious awards from the ASA National Convention! We were honored with the Crown of Excellence Chapter Award for 2023-2024, the highest recognition a chapter can receive. Our commitment to academic achievement was celebrated with Academic Excellence Awards for both Fall 2023 and Spring 2024, reflecting our distinction of having the highest GPA. We also earned the Four Star Chapter Award for 2023-2024, placing us in the top category of chapter performance. These achievements reflect our dedication to living out the values of Alpha Sigma Alpha every day.
Zeta Eta’s 30th Birthday: This year, we celebrated a milestone—our chapter’s 30th birthday! During Rockhurst’s Alumni Weekend, we honored this special occasion by connecting with alumnae, sharing cherished memories, and diving into our chapter's history through scrapbooks and storytelling. We were also deeply honored to host our national president at the event, making the celebration even more memorable. It was a beautiful reminder that our sisterhood unites us across generations.
Service and Philanthropy: Giving back to our community remains a cornerstone of Zeta Eta. This fall, we raised funds for Special Olympics through our Philanthropy Week, which featured events like Wings for Rings, Special O Olympics, and raffles. Additionally, we partnered with the Kansas City Alumnae Chapter for two service projects: creating hair bows for Girls on the Run and assembling birthday bags for Operation Breakthrough, bringing joy to young children in need.
Social Events: Our chapter stayed connected through a year full of fun! Mom’s and Dad’s Weekends were unforgettable, as we crafted bouquets with our moms and enjoyed competitive games of pickleball with our dads. In the spring, we held two formal dances—Alpha Jam, where we welcomed our new members, and the Crimson Ball, a senior send-off filled with superlatives and laughter. This fall, we hosted two date parties: one with an animal print theme and another with a masquerade theme. There was never a dull moment this past year as we celebrated our sisterhood!
As we look to the future, we are excited to continue building on this foundation and ensuring Alpha Sigma Alpha’s values of sisterhood, leadership, academic excellence, and service remain at the heart of everything we do.
We are especially thankful for the love and guidance we’ve received from you, our alumnae sisters. Your unwavering support inspires us to uphold the ideals of Alpha Sigma Alpha and honor our sisterhood in all that we do.
During this holiday season, we wish you joy, peace, and love. May the warmth of sisterhood and the spirit of the holidays fill your hearts and homes. Thank you for being a part of our Alpha Sigma Alpha family – we are better because of you!
If you ever find yourself near Kansas City, we would love for you to stop by and reconnect with the chapter. We welcome you with open arms to any upcoming events or reunions. Please feel free to follow us on Instagram or Facebook Sigma Alpha Kansas City Alumnae to stay in touch.
Wishing you and your loved ones happy holidays and a happy New Year!
