Pack-A-Smokes Competition BBQ Team We started on the KCBS circuit in 2009 and the worst thing that could happen did...we won a trophy in ribs.

We thought we were on top of the BBQ world. We were soon back to reality during our second competition when we finished in the bottom ten out of 40 teams. We had a lot to learn about competition BBQ. 2010 gave us some limited success, but 2011 was very good to us. With several top tens and our first Grand Championship. So far 2012 has been pretty good as we already have our second Grand Championship.

Well, the pack hasn't competed this year but I helped out Deadhead Smokers at the UNICOI Blueberry festival competition and we did pretty well. 2nd in chicken and brisket and 9th overall. Not too bad for two people that have never cooked together.

Was a great competition to end our year at the National BBQ Cup in Cu***ng, GA! Can't wait to get started next year and build on what we achivied this year. Planning on starting early next year. Looking like Feburary, burrrrr!

Well, 1st chicken, 9th in brisket and 13th overall and a pork thermometer that is 25 degrees off in a dumpster in Amelia Island, FL. Great time with friends and family all week. Deep sea fishing, getting to see a grown man do "the shark dance", and doing pretty well at a great comp! Couldn't ask much more.

Wow! Left the house at 8:15. Came back at noon to start packing to head to Grewnwood in the morning and during the time I was gone some thieving jackwagon ripped off two bags of charcoal, a case of water and a case of powerade off of my carport! They ignored the coolers, propane tanks, folding chairs, battery charger and othe misc. items. So, if you see someone walking down the road carrying two bags of charcoal, case of water and a case of powerade just run them over and tell me about it later.
