Well we finally made it! There are some huge holidays and events coming up this week: 4/19 Bicycle Day, 4/20, and now 4/21 the date that NJ is allowing the sale of cannabis at approved dispensaries.

Bicycle Day (4/19): This date is recognized by the United Nations General Assembly as the first recorded L*D “trip” by chemist Albert Hoffman on April 19th, 1943. Tony will be in the shop in the morning, and plans on sharing various educational resources regarding the history and use of psychedelics as a medicinal treatment option, religious/ritualistic uses, the known dangers and possible effects of various psychoactive substances, the psychedelic cultural revolution during the 60s and 70s, and the possibilities of a new one in the near future.

4/20!!: On 4/20 we will be hosting in house games and giveaways of various products ranging from trays and smoking accessories up to glassware! Proceeds from this event will be donated to a fantastic organization: Woman for Cause, which is a is New Jersey-based nonprofit organization which is founded by a group of dedicated & passionate women interested in addressing domestic violence and host of other family issues faced by women in the U.S. WFC addresses immediate needs of women by providing services to support them and building up confidence in the family members. A long-term vision of establishing peaceful communities free from domestic violence.

4/21 NJ Legal Recreational Sale: Tony and some other regulars were planning on picking up paper and accessories from the shop and making a group journey out to one of the newly licensed dispensaries to celebrate the legal sale of cannabis in the state of New Jersey. If you are interested in going on the journey for legal Cannabis, come by the shop and let the team know!

I moved from California five years ago, and have been living in Jersey City ever since! After moving here I fell in love with Downtown Jersey City’s rich history, culture and most importantly the friendly and helpful community l have found myself a part of. Prior to Artistic Smoke Shop, I have been doing glass design since 2002, and currently I am taking orders for custom designs for bongs, bowls, hand pipes, and more at the shop! Curious soul and racing enthusiast. I moved from North Carolina to Jersey City last year and I'm happy to be living in the city! I'm a student studying biotechnology and I find myself drawn to STEM as I love practical solutions that empower us to leave a better world for our children. I have a love for cars, especially 90's Japanese cars that are staples of drift culture. My baby is a (broken) 240sx sitting in my garage. In my personal time I like to find new music and play smash bros with my friends.

What do I like most about Jersey City? I'm glad I moved to Jersey City, the people I’ve met have all been cool and down to earth and I can see myself living here happily as an active member of the community for the foreseeable future.

I’ve grown up in Jersey City my whole life, and have lived throughout various communities in the area (Westside, JSQ and Downtown so far!). I am a huge advocate for cannabis education and awareness, and I am currently finishing up my Graduate degree in Space Systems Engineering with the goal of one day colonizing Mars. I have way too many hobbies to list, but when I am not working you can normally catch me playing Dungeons and Dragons, organizing a board games event or practicing guitar.

What do you like most about Jersey City? The culture, diversity, and strength of the community! Every section of Jersey City has its own rich culture that has and will continue to develop as the needs and desires of the community constantly evolve and change.

Gamer, Computer Nerd, Foodie, Tech Enthusiast. I like to describe myself as an extremely a chill and down to earth guy. Currently, I am finishing up my degree in computer science. During my free time, I usually spend my time doing the things that bring me joy, which may be working on personal software projects or playing video games.

What do I like most about Jersey City?
I just love everything about Jersey City, especially the chill and easy going vibes of the community. I also love how diverse Jersey City is. I have met many interesting people who have different experiences from different parts of the world. To be honest Jersey city feels like my hometown Kathmandu with a very warm and welcoming vibe.

Hello Jersey City! Thank you for accepting Artistic Smoke Shop as a member of the downtown community for the past two years. We’ve learned so much about the community and all of you, and we’ve figured it is about time and only fair that we properly introduce ourselves and what we stand for.

We at Artistic Smoke Shop are a diverse group of people who have come together with different talents and skills to accomplish a common set of goals of providing a safe space for discussion, diversity, artistic expression, and education.
