David Figueroa Colon is our May employee of the month! David has worked at TLS for 1.5 years and has been a phenomenal team member. He has a great sense of humor and keeps his co-workers laughing, even trying to get them to join him in singing and dancing along to music in the store. In his spare time, he loves to fish and is working hard to move his wife from Columbia to the States so they can enjoy living in Jackson Hole together. We look forward to many more years of working with you, David!

Congratulations to our April employee of the month, Miguel!

An employee at our sister company, TLS, since 2021, Miguel was born and raised in Jackson Hole, adding to our impressive list of native Jacksonites. Miguel always arrives at work in a good mood and ready to work (we have never seen him lose his cool even in the toughest situations). He is an outstanding member of our team and deserving of the Employee of the Month award.

Miguel is also super passionate about seeing music and will often drive for hours on his days off to soak up the vibes at festivals and concerts!

Our long-time employee, Anna, has had a challenging year facing health issues with her youngest son, Oliver.

On Oliver’s first birthday trip, he had to go to the hospital to fight septic shock. He is now in the PICU and is being closely monitored at one of the best children’s hospitals in the country.

Oliver is on long-term life support and will need a lot of care going forward.

What does it mean if a Chianti bottle has a rooster on it?

The Black Rooster is a very important symbol for all Chianti Classico producers. When it is placed on the neck of a bottle, or on the label, it makes it possible to distinguish a wine that has been produced within the territory of Chianti Classico (a Chianti Classico wine) from those that have been produced outside of the Chianti Classico territory. The symbol dates to the Middle Ages when the Lega del Chianti, a political and military institution created by the Republic of Florence to control the Chianti area, used it.

Congratulations to our March employee of the month, Ty!

Minnesotan, born and raised, Ty has been working as a sommelier for over a dozen years. Having studied wine at culinary school in California, Ty has worked in all aspects of the industry across retail, fine dining, winemaking, and wholesale in Minnesota, California, Oregon, and now Wyoming. While continuing to study wine daily, he tries to get out on the mountain as much as possible to enjoy the winter here!
