After two years and 7 months our limited edition rum has arrived!

Every rum is more than a sum of its parts. This rum, here with you today, is that essence in a glass. Each barrel must tell a complete story, with a beginning, a middle, and an end before it is harvested. Made with only the best ingredients and best practices, this rum has never been filtered, dyed, sweetened, or adulterated in any unnatural way. The Privateer distillers have used unique fermenting and distilling practices to coax out the nuances and natural flavors of the cane.

Cynthia Noftall of Ipswich Beverage joined Privateer Rum in its cellar and thoughtfully tasted through a selection of barrels and decided on this delicious cask, P388.

Cindy selected this barrel from the heart, in memory of dogs Kisses and Kramer.

Give Your Valentine's Day a Lift With These 7 Wines

Valentineā€™s Day 2019 is kind of a weird one.

The ubiquitous Sweetheart candy hearts we have come to count on seeing each year around this time arenā€™t here. Instead, there are heart-shaped doughnuts that carry the ā€œBe Mineā€ messaging.

But one constant for the holiday is wine. It doesnā€™t matter if youā€™ve planned a Valentineā€™s night out at a fancy restaurant or are planning a cozier night alone in front of the fireā€”a good wine can help enhance the experience.

Itā€™s important to pick the right one, though. Just as a good wine can make a special occasion more memorable, a bad one can shut the evening down quickly. With that in mind, here are seven wines weā€™ve found that rise above the rest.

2014 Long Meadow Ranch Rutherford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon ā€“ 2014 was a good year for Napa Valley cabs. This rich offering is dominated by dark cherry and plum with very rounded tannins. Itā€™s a deep, complex wine that goes great with a big meal.

2015 Ehlers Estate Cabernet Franc ā€“ Cab Francs are bold wines and the Ehlers Estate is no exception, but itā€™s not overwhelming. Thereā€™s an acidic quality thatā€™s tempered by black and red cherries and strawberries. Itā€™s a very full bodied offering with a nice, dry finish.

2015 Moon Fantasy Cabernet Sauvignon ā€“ A big, bold Cab that goes down incredibly smooth. The dark fruits, including blackberry, raspberry, and plum, mix with to***co and leather to form a complex, but balanced wine thatā€™s good today and will certainly get much, much better with age.

2016 Erath Oregon Pinot Noir ā€“ This affordable Pinot Noir bursts with tartness, and is loaded with the taste of blackberry, cherries, and a hint of cinnamon. Itā€™s earthy and chewy and has a juicy finish that lingers.

2015 Gamble Heart Block Sauvignon Blanc ā€“ Valentineā€™s Day isnā€™t usually associated with white wines, but this Sauv Blanc is clean with a nice acidic finish. Youā€™ll pick up grapefruit, lemons and Granny Smith apples, but you wonā€™t get that earthy quality that some blancs carry.

2014 Sonoma-Cutrer Grand Cuvee Sparkling Wine ā€“ A Russian River sparkling wine thatā€™s made in the MĆ©thode Traditionnelle, this is a fairly inexpensive, bright bubbly that brings out hints of apple and strawberry. It pairs wonderfully with seafoods or cheese plates (especially rich cheeses, like goatā€™s milk) or as a compliment to a light dessert.

Ruinart Blanc de Blancs ā€“ Crisp and acidic, with apple and lemon flavors dancing across the palate, carrying a hint of spice. Itā€™s a nice way to end a meal or move from dinner to a more romantic setting.

Hey all. Sorry it has been a while. We hope you all had a great summer.

Fall is an awesome time of year too, the Patriots have begun the season and despite the controversy they won the first game. A game we might add no one thought they would win. The Red Sox are playing well and the playoffs are fast approaching.

Why not stop in and stock up on your favorite beverage while visiting with Kisses and Duncan?

We know, we owe you a recent picture of the two and will get something up soon.

Take care all and don't forget to stop by.
