Hey all! We have a really BIG favor to ask. As you all know, this pandemic has taken a HUGE hit on small businesses across the board. Maryland News Center has been in Hyattsville since 1965. It's a family business that has been a local staple for many years.

On top of the pandemic, this beer and wine store and many others in MD are at risk of being impacted with major down turn due to the efforts of major out-of-state corporations who want to increase their profits by selling alcohol in chain stores. This puts local and family owned liquor stores at risk and potentially out of business. If you could please take a second to sign this petition to prevent this from happening, it would mean so much to us and to local businesses at risk.

You guys! Summer is right around the corner and we have just the thing to keep you cool during the hottest days! Say hello to Strawberry Peach White Wine Slushies! We are dropping the recipe below so you can drop by @mdnews_center to get yourself a bottle of @barefootwine Moscato for this amazing recipe that is sure to be a HUGE hit for your next summer soiree! . STRAWBERRY PEACH WHITE WINE SLUSHIES Prep time: 5 mins Total time: 5 mins Serves: 4 servings . Delicious, light, and fresh summer blended drink. Ingredients 1 bottle of white wine 2+ cups of frozen peach and/or mango slices 1+ cups of frozen strawberries 3 cups of ice cubes . Instructions Blend 2 cups (or ⅔ bottle) of white wine with about 2 cups of frozen peaches (add mango if you fancy it) as well as 2 cups of ice cubes. Pour into four glasses. Blend 1 cup of white wine (or the last ⅓ of the bottle) with about 1 to 1.5 cups of strawberries and 1 cup of ice. Pour it on top of the peach slushy. Add a straw and serve icy! Depending on how strong of a wine flavour you prefer, you can experiment with less or more fruit and ice. This makes quite a light summer drink with a hint of wine; not a strong wine taste.
