We started a tradition about 3 years ago at the shop. Anytime we have more than 15 or so pallets shipping out, I have to stand on top of them and take a picture. Well tomorrow we are sending out 23 pallets to Florida, so here I stand only this time, my Office Manager is demanding that I come down. Lots of fun at work today

A positive spin on participation trophies:

Recently I had the pleasure of visiting with one of my clients that has built an amazing competition business. A discussion arose about participant awards. I quickly told him my story about a lady in my church that informed me one day, and I quote, "Pam, you sell a worthless product". That comment hurt. A few days later I went back to her and with a really strong statement, I informed her that "it may be worthless however, when the person who gets the award actually receives it, they are so excited." I futher told her that "the excitement of the person shaking the award in the air with that smile on their face and the laughter in their heart makes my product worthwhile."

My client said, NO, the story goes further. That award is a memory and not just a memory for the moment they received it but a memory of what it took to get it. Let's say it was just a participant trophy. The parent that took the drinks, cookies and etc and the child that played that sport and possibly losing every game..... it still has a memory of what that team did. What those kid accomplished. How that family made lasting friendships because of that team. Every time they see it, it reminds them of those events.

This way of thinking is really the way it is. It's made me realize that what I do is not worthless, but my awards are lasting memories for those events in peoples lives. Awards matter! Trophies matter! Everybody loves to be awarded and feel the excitement of that accomplishment even it they were the last place team.

I'm done ranting, I love what I do and I'm proud to sell participation awards

I can not believe that it's been 36 years! I love what I do. It makes people feel good and get excited when they receive an award. I am thankful everyday that the Lord has allowed me to be in this industry. I could not have done this without Marian Turney, Roy Jordan, Judy Bennett, Leta Myers, Phyllis Hancock, Charlene Proffitt, Tuffy Moore, Roger Ayers, David Story, Kristi Luna, Sharon Chavis, Henry San Miguel, Jessica Shores, Terry Love, Paula Gurka, Ramond, Norma, Leisa, Joanne Chance, Joanna, and three great kids, Gennifer Nash, Leslie Story, & Matt Chavis. Last but not least to my Customers..... thank you for allowing us to serve you!
