Hello and welcome to my world.
Now that we passed the bad weather and freez one we are getting in to the spring soon it’s time to dust off the wine cooler system something you can do yourself to see if things ok with yours check the tempreture coming out of the cooler and in going to the unit or room tempreture and the different between them should be 10 degrees if it is more or less there would be a problem that shows up soon as we get to April or may. You may want to watch that machine and log the tempreture reading weekly.

Wine cooler or cellar is not an appliance. It is a refrigeration machine contains refrigerant some of them carry R600 Freon. An explosive gas. Use a knowledgeable person

If you have split system wine cooler every six months use the water hose and clean the outside coil. The reason when someone cut the grass around the outside unit dust sits on the coil and since the coil generate heat it cooks the dust to a hard compound and the coil looses ability to conduct heat
We use a solvent to clean it but if you do it right after mowing the grass it’s good.

These day most of the service call we get is the problem with fan motor in the outside unit which is result of neglect and being dirty.
Funny is most people think all these equipments are made well and last a long time yes they do long time only if you have an expert like me to look after it. These machines need regular service that is if your wine is important to you. Any question about anything send me a massage.

Quality of the cooler is depend on the quality service you get. Don’t let just anyone work on your cooler. Specially appliance repair person. They are not even licensed find a hvac person and check their license card issued by state

Most wine cooler repaire companies today are appliances repair companies. Working on a dishwasher is very different than wine cooler. Unfortunately public always are misled. Specially with internet and all those dandy pictures make people Bleve that they are a real expert.
On case I have seen and talk to the customer one or two companies in Houston that sell a new unit but actually put a used one. I seen it.
And then next year do the same thing replace it with another used on and people fall for it. If anyone have a question about this article please contact me
One lady put a new unit 15 years ago with one of the appliances company turned out to be a used one when I asked her she said I did not know and now they want $23000 for the complete new I been in the industry since the beginning of this trend. I got and I have seen lots of ugly act.

l the contractor are there you pick one and deal with him simple now days you have to go on line find the page and fill out so many questions what is your project how much is your budget zip code address
Then they assess you to see if they can make money out of you if yes they take you
Example one company says we put new AC system for you only $50 0er month yeh for how long 50 years? Folks please don’t b fool just ask friend and Nighbor for honest contractor you be glad you did

Most service companies don’t have marketing plan. Their plan is to rip off the clients
That’s is the only way they can stay float

Hello friends. Often they ask me where we look for a wine cooler technicians. ?
That’s a good question.
I have to say there is not many technician there to understand this machin let alone a good one.
But I can advise this. Avoid appliances companies. Their technicians for from knowing the principal of wine cooler. To begin with they are not licensed to work on refrigerations handling refrigerant. So , I have a lot of horrible stories about this. But I tel you if you want to know in private.
Just be careful. Don’t damage your equipment and your wine.
I am carrying a type A combination license for air and refrigerations. By the state of Texas. License number TACLA 8191C
50 plus years in fields experience. And An Engineer educated and graduated from American university.

When we get to kind of weather 46 and lower wine cooler does not work. Yo May ask why.
I had lots of call yesterday and today that the cooler does not work.
These coolers design for the temperature around 85 and 95 Fahrenheit.
Most you that have that problem your unit sub-cool is not correct. Your installer was probably an air conditioning guy. Nothing egainst them. I myself been working on ac all my life. I carry license A combination by state of Texas for more than 30 years. But I am an engineer also and have a degree to back me up.
There is lots of things that your regular AC guy would not know. And working on wine room equipment is not their favorite.
So when the cold effect your cooler the best temporary is to cover the outside unit with blanket and let the cooler build heat.
