They are finally here!!
Viva Mexico Tequila Nasa Private Select. Picked by the owner himself, Sergio Vivanco.
Reposado ($80.99) - 8 months, 86p, single barrel, ex-cognac barrel
Tasting notes - The nose is light & sweet. Very aromatic fruit notes with agave and hints of caramel. The body is light with a perfect viscosity only found in the best single barrel repos. Agave forward and peppery. Very balanced. Medium finish with a great lingering mouth feel.
Anejo ($99.99) - 22 months, , 86p, single barrel, ex-bourbon Jack Daniel's white oak barrel.
Tasting notes - Nose is sweet with agave, pepper and hints of fruit, caramel, cinnamon, and vanilla with a hint of wood. The body has a slightly fuller body than the reposado that lingers in a fantastic way. Tastes of cooked agave, caramel, cinnamon & oak. Medium to long finish, a bit longer than the repo. Simply wonderful!!
Extra Anejo (limited availability) ($249.99) - 4.5 yrs, 107p , single barrel aged in white American Oak. That's right, 107 proof extra anejo!!
Tasting notes - Simply AMAZING nose, oak, cooked agave, butterscotch, caramelized banana, orange peel. Long wonderful lingering delicious mouthfeel... stays a while and pure enjoyment.
**Overall** - Viva Mexico (Vivanco and Cruz) killed it with this lineup! Amazing artwork with throwback homage labels giving respect & love to 70's and 80's old school design on the repo and anejo. The extra anejo bottle is a very unique heavy and thick glass that screams high end and demands attention. A true UNICORN bottle in the making. Don't miss this one!!
