We’re excited to be out at the Terrebonne Parish High School Career Fair today! Our team is engaging with some amazing students and discussing their futures in the fire service. It’s always a pleasure to connect with the next generation of leaders and help them explore potential career paths.

A huge thank you to the Louisiana Workforce Commission for having us and organizing this incredible event. We’re proud to be a part of it and look forward to seeing what the future holds for these promising young individuals!

MY THOUGHTS - Milton has the potential to be one of the largest natural disasters this country has ever seen.

A mass evacuation is underway for one of the most populated metro areas in the United States. Tampa, St. Pete and all living up and down the West Coast of Florida - you are making the right choice getting out of this surge zone. This is a storm never experienced in your lifetime, the angle of approach could lead to the largest water level rise Tampa Bay has ever seen.

Being a meteorologist sucks sometimes. It requires you to scare people to get a point across. We all have what happened in the Carolinas fresh on our mind. Hopefully that is a reminder to never speak the following phrase again in regards to weather prediction.

“They always say it’s going to be bad and it never is.”

One day it will be you, it will be bad and your life could be in danger if you don’t take precautions each and every time. Some folks in Milton’s cone will luck out, others won’t. Tampa, you lucked out with Ian, but you saw the devastation to your south. Your luck will eventually run out. Grab your belongings, grab your children, grab your animals and leave. You don’t chance your life hoping for a lucky wobble at the end.

If you live along the Gulf Coast for any length of time, you know the drill. When it’s our turn to take the hit, we appreciate those who are here to help after the storm is gone. Floridians, Tampa residents and the entire Suncoast - we’ll be there to help!
