This Remembrance Day, we pause to remember all those who have served and made sacrifices for our country.

It was our honour to support the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) 100 New Brunswick Banner Project, recognizing New Brunswick air force veterans and service persons during the Royal Canadian Air Force's centennial year — including our company's founder, K.C. Irving, who served as a fighter pilot with the Royal Flying Corps.

A strong team 👏

As we celebrate the successful completion of our $80-million fall turnaround, Operation Mallard, we extend our thanks to our employees and the more than 1,200 additional skilled workers who joined us at our Saint John refinery over the past several weeks.

Thank you for your dedication to safety and teamwork throughout our maintenance project.

Together, we have supported the continued safe and reliable operation of our refinery and the energy security of the communities we serve.

A day in the life ✨

On Wednesday, we welcomed 85 Grade 9 students to our business for Take Our Kids to Work Day. From designing materials with our Creative department, to operating a fire hose with our Emergency Response Team, to checking out our delivery trucks with our Professional Drivers - it was a day full of inspiration and learning for all.

Charging forward ⚡

Our Irving EV-charging network is expanding with 16 new chargers coming to eight Irving retail sites in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

With support from Natural Resources Canada, the first Irving EV charging station is now open at our Fairville Boulevard location in Saint John, NB.

"It's great for us to be able to help people who need it."

Each fall season, Tim McNutt hears customers at his Enfield Big Stop asking for more ways they can support Fuel the Care.

Like other participating Big Stops across our network, customers can sit at the table marked These Chairs Care this October and November, and a portion of the proceeds from their meal will be donated to our local partner hospitals.

In addition, customers are welcome to use the yellow Fuel the Care Pump at our Enfield Big Stop, along with other locations in the Halifax area, where one cent from every litre purchased is donated to the IWK Foundation to support families travelling to receive medical care for their child.

"We do see some people stop in and say they're on the way to the IWK and that they received fuel gift cards from Irving," Tim says. "It's nice to see, especially when you see these children, who are so strong."

Since 2002, Fuel the Care has provided fuel gift cards to more than 100,000 families travelling to receive medical care across Eastern Canada, New England and Ireland.

Investing in Ireland's energy security 🇮🇪

Our Whitegate refinery in Co. Cork, Ireland, is in the midst of its fall turnaround — a €32-million maintenance project bringing in more than 400 additional skilled workers to our facility over a six-week period.

These investments are essential to the continued safe and reliable operations of Ireland's only oil refinery.

“All I wanted was for my little boy to be OK.”

Before the age of two, Zealan – an energetic young boy from Green’s Harbour, NL, diagnosed with a rare form of spina bifida – had 22 surgeries at the Janeway Children's Hospital and IWK Health. With home two hours away from the Janeway and a 20-hour travel day from the IWK in Halifax, NS, transportation was a big concern for his family.

“We wouldn’t have made it through this journey without a little extra help,” says Kyra, Zealan’s mother.

Through our Fuel the Care program, the family was able to use fuel gift cards to help cover the cost of travel.

“Taking out the stress of how we would fill our fuel tank for each appointment helped more than anyone could understand.”

Zealan, the youngest of three children, is now walking after many doctors said he never would. “You would never know what he’s been through if you saw him today,” says Kyra.

Thanks to the support of our customers, our Fuel the Care program has helped more than 100,000 families with the cost of travel between home and hospital since 2002.
